This topic always confused the heck out of me. Why can't a person like both Star Wars and Star Trek?

Okay, sorry about the miss read on my part.

I prefer both equally. Sometimes I'm in the mood for Empire, other times Wrath of Khan, etc.

I much prefer Star Trek. Star Wars has a simple (and effective) duality of good vs evil, and is action oriented. Star Trek on the other hand is much deeper and slower (that's what she said).

With 5 tv series and umpteen movies I fell Star Trek has been able to tackle more thought-provoking issues and tell better stories than Star Wars has been able to do. Star Wars has always been about 'popcorn' entertainment, which it has in spades. Star Trek always seemed deeper.

They both have their pros and cons. I don't personally care for Ep. II and III and the CW shows, or the general direction the franchise has taken in the past decade. I'd probably pick Trek if I really had to choose though.

Never been able to get into Stark Trek , even the remake was a bit much for me, then again I'm not the biggest fan of Star Wars either.

I've not seen enough of Trek but I'll say Star Wars.

Age might make a difference here in this one too...Kids(action) Star wars---grown ups(thinkers) Star Trek....no disrespect to anyone...Star Wars had one big positive major factor for me...It was a Father/Son story
