Now wait, dont disrespect Jocasta, she had no fear of Vader AT ALL and you have to respect that.

prob equal parts all 3. seems the show isn't all that great so far, folk are tired of the mediocre/bad franchise shows already and there are some folk who hated the shows concept and creator from the start.Lowest rated SW ever... after only 2 episodes. Predictions are that it's going drop dramatically after Ep3.
I wonder what the ratio of it comes from franchise fatigue vs not liking it vs haters. Ashoka, Obi-Wan, BOBF, Solo, etc don't even come as remotely close to these figures. Same as the trailers - no other SW trailers were bombarded with the unprecedented dislikes.
Again, I didn't hate it, but I couldn't invest in it either.
Youngling : "How does the force work?"Get with the program you fools, its not called the force anymore its the Thread! Also Lesbian space witches motherS trump all!
Skywalker who!?!?
Guys, this thread is about the new Star Wars show, not "wokeness" and diversity in entertainment.
We don't have a political forum for a reason. If something is relevant to the story, or property then by all means discuss it, but this overall race, DEI, conversation is not it.
Can I get a warning if I'm on thin ice?
For me it's not "franchise fatigue" if that means a story set in the SW world.Lowest rated SW ever... after only 2 episodes. Predictions are that it's going drop dramatically after Ep3.

That initially would interest me.
And I was curious, mildly, at least about this show.
Then over time, between showrunner and actor/actresses comments, I felt negative. The second any show creator starts talking their feelings or whatever and not about the narrative, characters etc. per se the way Favreau carefully introduced the Mandalorian for me it's off-putting. There was no hook of legacy characters either.
E.g. if the showrunner & co. are behaving IMO unprofessionally in multiple interviews, it's a red flag. Then the early reviews come out - by that time I don't care whether I'm spoiled or not - and it just sounds tired Ahsoka/CW rehash. Overall it's the same dynamics that ruined Hulk - disrespect of the original source, self insertion, lack of writing ability, irritating failures of logic and consistency.
It's also hard to address The Acolyte while ignoring the fact that its creators have been so overt about the reasons why they created it. It's akin to critiquing a novel while completely disregarding the author's intention.
I have yet to push myself to watch it, got other stuff to do but did watch a couple clips and... oh the dialogue is pretty bad. Sets etc looked ok but man the dialogue was prequel bad.
This isn't some kind of guessing game though. A character needs to develop naturally and believably from a psychological standpoint, not to mention in an interesting way. The prequel Anakins both fail miserably, not only because these characters are so poorly written but also because the actors totally lack the skill and charisma needed to convincingly portray the emerging Vader persona. You make it sound like any random arc would've been ok for the greatest villain in movie history, and the only thing bothering "older dudes" is that they have personal wants and unrealistic expectations. The thing is that old dudes have more life experience and therefore wish for better and more true-to-life character arcs in their favorite franchises. Anakin as portrayed in the prequels doesn't have a snowballs chance in Hell to end up like Darth Vader. It's just a rubbish retrofit version Lucas made on his quest to further infantilize Star Wars (in order to sell more toys), instead of crafting what could've been a more serious and meaningful prequel that actually served the character of Darth Vader. Lucas was well versed in many disciplines but psychology definitely wasn't one of them.Well yes. That was the problem with the older dudes who didn’t like the PT. They already had an idea what the characters and what anakin would be like. For some reason him being a happy child wasn’t what they thought he’d be.
Nah, Hayden is a good Anakin (as shown in (Ahsoka) but George’s direction of the character held him amongst others back. This isn't some kind of guessing game though.
