I will at least admit that the guy has a good sith look to him especially how they focus on his arms.

Episode 5: cool light saber battles. Stale dialog and cut and paste dialog. Master Sol continues to be the best thing about the show.

In The Phantom Menace Ki-Adi-Mundi said that "the Sith have been extinct for over a millennium".

Prequels: "Siths are extinct. No Sith around for about 1000 years. Yep, I'm sure".

Acolyte: "... oh, except that one who a not that long time ago slaughtered dozen of masters and a bunch of padawans. Yeah, but that's really it, I promise.".

BTW isn't Sol supposed to be able to read the mind, got jedi sense or whatever so it shouldn't be possible to trick him into "I'm my sister, I even got lightsaber haircut"?

staged some excellent lightsaber action, but the lightsaber as a hair styling wand was laugh out loud ridiculous and the deaths of all the redshirt Jedis carried no impact as none were afforded any character development. The deaths of shirtless Jedi and Replacement Palawan had only slightly more emotional weight. Also, there’s no way that Jedi Master Sol shouldn’t sense that Mae is not his former padawan. That hasn’t played out yet so perhaps he does know but it seems we’re to believe that the Sith Master can’t sense the twin switch either.
Speaking of the Sith, I will say that Manny Jacinto was superb and he was the best part of this episode, with the Mae/Osha actress being the weak link. So while easily the best episode so far, it doesn’t move the needle enough to get one’s hopes up

This is the first episode of the series that I wasn’t bored watching. I’ll give it that. I’ll even go as far as to say it’s the high point of the series, so far. But 5 episodes in, I just don’t believe there’s any saving this series. From a narrative standpoint it’s still a mess.

There was a development that I correctly predicted, this episode, but I’m completely indifferent about it. None of the characters’ motivations make any sense, anyway.

I’m also perplexed as to where the story goes from here. Isn’t there three more episodes of this? I can’t imagine a scenario where this ends in any kind of satisfying way.

This is the first episode of the series that I wasn’t bored watching. I’ll give it that. I’ll even go as far as to say it’s the high point of the series, so far. But 5 episodes in, I just don’t believe there’s any saving this series. From a narrative standpoint it’s still a mess.

Same here. I just never liked the production design. I remember our first glimpse was pics from the set of Ep 1 shown in Star Wars Insider Magazine back in 1996. I was so let down. It looked like Babylon 5.

Then we actually got to SEE the movies...and well....the rest is history.

But then came The Mandalorian, and I loved season 2 so much that it made me have to at least consider the Jango/Boba Fett stuff somewhat canon.

I mean say what you will about the quality of the show but I do think it could be interesting if the Jedi covered this up.

We already know the Jedi weren’t as perfect as they liked to make out from the prequels and TCW.
