Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

The PT was largely a missed opportunity that still offers some cool moments that have endured in spite of the mistakes. No big. Back to Harmy's trilogy.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

Cool moments of moments. But never a whole moment.

Nah - there's lots. :wink1:

The beginning of TPM with Liam & Ewan, the Naboo scenes, final battle - all of that makes up for the stupid Jamaican rabbit lizard crap.

AOTC - the Jango & Ewan interaction / encounter on Kamino, in the thick of the clone battle on the ground at Geonosis - that's all for that film. :lol

ROTS - you're right there actually.. moments within moments only really. Disregard the first 20mins - crap. Stuff like the opera scene with Anakin & Palpy - gold. Flickers where you see his emotional state deteriorate towards the end, & where he's burning on the volcano bank - all good.

The rest of ROTS?

Rubbish

Of

Titanic

Scale

:exactly: :lol :duff

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

I hate Jango Fett and Kamino. I'd say Episode II is Obi-Wan Ewan McGregor at his worst (he's literally, one of the only good things about the prequels, in my opinion).

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

This whole conversation is a throwback to 2006. Weeeeee! :woo

Well - not to sound obnoxious, but I didn't really dig the Jango / clone accent, but I guess it made the character feel more exotic than just another generic American or British accent. At least it was authentic though. The whole CW CGI show has been an assault on that accent from day one. :lol

Things I F#$%ing Hate:

Every discussion about Star Wars, even discussions about the future of Star Wars, becomes a discussion of the prequels.

I loved the Kamino scene....Jango was great imo

Because that's all Star Wars is now. Crap. There is legally no real versions of the films out there. All is left is Lucas' "vision" of **** polluting the walls of celluloid history.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

I am so glad Lucas sold out. I just hope we get some epic force/Jedi Light saber battles in this one. I'm just way over trying to force feed us a love story. Just make a bad A$$ action filled Star Wars film. Star Wars is not for kids. I hated that GL thought it was.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

Nothing about Kamino was good.

Jango and his kid is as crappy as Superman and his kid.

I didn't like the kid Boba thing either, but Jango interacting with Ewan, & some of the Kamino scenes - as I mentioned earlier, were good. :wink1:

Totally disagree if you're talking about someone who has never seen Star Wars.

Without seeing ANH no one would care about Luke being lost in the snow, they'd be confused by Han and Leia's relationship. They'd wonder what was so important about being a Jedi. What's with the ghost? Its all built on ANH.

Personally, I like all the required character introductions and such that ANH provides. ANH is still the film I put in if I want to watch a SW movie maybe 50% of the time.

Clearly you haven't met my gf... she wouldn't give ANH 10 minutes before she rolled over and went to sleep :lol I agree if you are introducing somebody to something new, it is ideal to start from the beginning. But while I love it, ANH is not a good enough film to hook somebody like her in, ESB on the other hand may just be.... once that foot is in the door is when you go can back to the beginning and show the rest. To be honest I'm still working on Alien first before I even attempt star wars with her ;)

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

I found that only the ewoks stood a chance of reeling my ex in. She otherwise saw no particular appeal.

Back in the day ANH could have done the job easily. But today everyone's used to sci-fi and big effects films. You like it or you don't.
