do you guys notice how Felicity Jones has not have any of these problems or any of this bullying? ah? why is that? is it maybe because people loved Rogue one so much? is it because her character didnt piss people off?

I doubt Emilia Clarke will get this kind of hate either....

Agreed. Rogue One was simply a good film. No *******! It was a decent script, aesthetically beautiful and while some people complained that the CGI Tarkin and Leia weren't convincing enough, I was floored by Tarkin. Like ANH, for me Rogue One became a benchmark in film innovation, with the resurrection of Peter Cushing.

The future of Star Wars needs to look more like it's past, not in terms of copying what had come before it but with the goal of innovating! The OT showed us things that hadn't been done before. It evolved film, and the business surrounding it. Disney needs to take those kinds of artistic risks, instead of promoting an agenda in hopes it'll seem "edgy".

I liked RO. It's the only non OT SW film I bought as a DVD/Blu-Ray.

Funny enough, I had the OT on Laser Disc. My LD players stopped working so I sold those to a collector. :D

She was the only new character's name I remember in RO. Film had some weak character arcs.

Along with weak personal hygiene. Forget the Imperial cargo ship, in RO the Rebellion needs to hijack a ship carrying laundry detergent, shower supplies and razor blades.:lecture

And I guess they do - just a week or two later in ANH, everyone is shaved, showered and in clean uniforms.

I hate Rough One.
I hate her character.
I hate her perfomance.

I do not care for social media.
90% of people on the net are either edgy ********s or crap throwing monkeys.
Both wanna get attention and at least some kind of recognition.
That includes paid journalism and pseudo-journalism, which is 90% of journalism overall.

wow thank you for your opinion man, i feel blessed!

I really liked a video in which describes both Rey and Jyn's character. It did into the Mary Sue bit, but overall did a nice job. I like Rey but she has plenty of issues. Jyn and Qi' Ra are quite likeable for me. I don't see them having backlash. But I think probably cause no one wants to rain on Khaleesi just yet.

I like two of the comments in the Tran article that described part of the SW fan base as “grown *** ugly troglodytes” and “dudebro gremlin [harassers]”. It’s accurate.

Describing oneself as a SW fan is sometimes like admitting you belong to a horrible club.

Jake Lloyd got bullied and went insane, Hayden quit acting, Lucas got crap for years, Daisy deleted all her social media and now Kelly Marie did the same. Got to wonder if Alden dodged a bullet staying away from social media.

I disliked her character and thought she wasn't well written but I don't condone the harrasment one bit, especially since that's likely going to have an affect on her mental health. I know the feeling from life experience but hers is coming from a much, much larger group of people that I can't imagine how bad it must be.

you ever notice how they always go for the weaker targets but they never go after Rian Johnson or anyone at disney or Adam Driver or Oscar Isaac either

Its like even online the bullies know who Not to mess with.....

Most people like RO so of course no one is going to give any of those actors grief. People like Ahmed Best, Jake Lloyd, Kellie Tran, and even Daisy Ridley to an extent all have the dubious honors of being introduced to the world through their hated SW characters. Portman, Isaac, Del Toro, Dern, even Domhnall Gleeson (Hux) all had respectable careers prior to SW so even if their characters are disliked they don't weather the brunt of the "fan" vitriol.

Getting "harrased" on the internet is nothing, it cannot affect you in real life unless you're a pathetic excuse for a human being. The fact that people think Hollypoop stars and money makers can be affected by "internet bullies" in any way is dubious.

well its not like you would even know though...

no, it is not common at all. none of us will ever know what is like to get thousands of messages a day.

Sure we can think we would be strong to not care, but we even care about what people say about each other in this tiny forum.... imagine having to deal with thousands of posts a day.....

You are thinking like a robot and erasing emotion from the equation. there are egos involved. Big egos,

I know Martin Freeman said that he would get personally hurt at hateful comments about him online,
when he was doing the hobbit he got pretty upset at some of the hate he was getting.

Robert Pattison said the same thing. you get paranoid and cant stop thinking about it

it messes with your mind,

That’s not true, I did see the double doors and I’m sure everyone else did as well. But as I said in my second comment they didn’t shut, nor make any sound of shutting, as they normally would in the SW universe. As it’s such a small thing I didn’t want to get in a little argument over it and let it go with a half agreement in my response. But you’re on and on about it man. I think it’s you who has the subjective bias and you’re just making up stuff to make sure it all fits. It doesn’t. Let it go.

Not to mention it doesn’t take a huge stretch of imagination to think they used a force field of sorts.....

Like they do in the hangers? I mean you shouldn’t need everything spelled out for the public....it seems that SW fans suddenly need this perfect explanation for things...when as children we accepted space slugs, Luke surviving a ridicules fall, space wizards....you know..

In which case. why did they all get sucked out in the first place. That's a nice image though. I really like the new imperial dropships and how they ark back to WWII.
