My standard just arrived from sideshow. She’s still in the box tho. Too much work. Did inspect her tho. Great looking figure and boy is she heavy. Also didn’t realize the lantern came with the standard.
So does this mean the only differences between the standard and deluxe are a tree stump diorama instead of a proper stand and a new Grogu?
HT really lost sight of what the DX label should mean with this one.

Tried swapping my DLX PO for the standard version at BBTS but they wouldn't do it because it's not an "in stock" item. Grrr.
I'm "Grogu'd" out* and actually like that regular version stand a lot more. I may try the swap again when the stock eventually hits as I'm sure a lot of folks may cancel this and await the Ashoka show version.

*- as I'm sure a lot more folks may be if the speculated shenanigans of him "saving" Din in that ridiculous Iggy shell thing while "awakening" the kraken, er, mythosaur for Bo to save the day sound like a way over the top wrap up that sends the little mite into overdrive that will make leaping into Lizzo's lap look great in comparison...please be wrong lol
When I get my standard I’ll trade you stands and grou

I believe that is the only difference. I’m totally fine too with the stand base with the extra water feature attachment.

I just checked the listing on sideshow…the pics nor description mention the lantern coming with the standard.

Super nervous about these arms. NEVA wanted HT to do this, but folks kept pushing and pushing for seamless and here we are 🙄🤷🏾‍♂️ new engineering and absolutely no accountability from HT on the short cuts taken in design. No way those arms should have a plastic armature but phnck all if they don’t. 😡😡😡

The lantern was initially listed as an exclusive to the deluxe but for some reason ended up being included with both versions. Makes me all the more happy to have saved the money and stuck with the regular edition.

Well, people were pushing them to the Phicen like seamless body assuming they'd actually DO a Phicen like seamless body and not this *******ization of same! There are a lot of pros to what Hot Toys achieved with this like the very cool musculature on her back, etc. but there's a reason Phicen uses a metal armature, you guys. This is all on Hot Toys for the horse sh!t execution, not on those who asked for seamless assuming Hot Toys would do it right...

All that said, this Ahsoka is still a win in my book, just too bad we have to be so careful with a nearly $300 figure even for the reg. Guess what, Hot Toys, we like to POSE our dam figures!

Yeah, gone are the days where DX meant something special. But the good thing is that’s also indicative of how much they’ve been packing into many non-DX figures in recent years.

Both Standard and Deluxe Ahsoka are pretty much DX only because they have moving eyes. That, a fancy box, and a trinket like a keychain or card were the only real distinctions left for the DX line at the time.

But now most new figures come with moving eyes so DX won’t mean really mean anything going forward. It’s probably time for the label to be retired.

I hear you. I’m more angry with HT than the community for sure. Just a shame they $hit the bed on this. Shame on you HT!
Now watch, we’ll get a “newly designed body with real metal armature” for the show release 🙄

They are going to fight tooth and nail before absorbing the cost of using metal in their bodies.

Feels more likely they’ll stubbornly keep using plastic with some patchwork improvements until enough complaints pile up.

Then they’ll make a new line with metal parts called something like Diecast Optimized Real Kneaded Silicone (DORKS) and charge $400+ for it.

She's here. :panic::panic::panic:

simply awesome @Spanbauer !
I just saw SS charged me for something with no pre-warning email. I had to sort through the orders to discover it was Ahsoka! For all those waiting, orders coming in HOT!
Thanks! Yeah I didn't get any heads-up email from Sideshow last week either; I was checking my credit card charges and noticed one from Sideshow for the balance, got the shipping notice later that night.
Was charged for tax and shipping a few hours ago

As much as hearing of some breaking bends, I’ve been really excited for this release!

Can’t ******* wait for the show!
I really didn't want to be one of the people who broke an arm right out of the box; the elbows are very stiff fresh at first and it's hard to even know if you're pushing them in the correct direction. So what I did and what I would recommend others do the first time you bend the elbows is take off the hands, gloves and sleeves so you can see for yourself which way the elbow joint is pointed and brace the arm so as to not put too much pressure on that little plastic elbow connection.

In my case the right elbow was actually turned inward slightly under the sleeve; had I forced it without first straightening the arm I wonder if I would have broken it. Now that I have a 'feel' for it, I think I'm ok to bend the arms at the elbows without fearing breakage. *knock on wood*

incredible portraits. i love these so much!
Thanks!
I read the first line of your post @Spanbauer saying She's here, and before scrolling down my first thought was, "please don't post any pictures, Span", because after spanbauer posts photos, I don't want to post any of mine anymore because what's the point  😇.....
🤣 oh come on, you should definitely still post yours! I think I’m going to be taking photos for days and days yet, so you’ve got some time before I share any more 🤪
