Starting the hunt for custom Katanga fodder

One of my other wants on the list of customs I have always wanted to do was a really good Katanga.. like Jock the pilot, he was interesting and just had style... over at the OSW forum I saw this new British Bren gunner.. when I saw his WW2 British white turtleneck sweater I immediately thought Katanga !

Any suggestions for a head though ?

I wonder if the HT Apollo Creed figure's head could work. Great find on that sweater, hope to find one loose sometime. Katanga was one of my favorite incidental characters too. Got to get that man a pipe!

I have been thinking of this before and thought that the GI Joe Tuskegee Airman looked partially like Katanga. With a little reworking, I think that head would work well.

I actually have the Nate and Lucas heads in my parts bin... they just don't fit the part well enough... There is a better AA sculpt by DML named "Roscoe" that I also have... the problem is the serious lack of decent AA sculpts out there leaves us with just taking whatever we can find.... As for the pipe Kaiburr.. I may be mistaken (I'll have to go check the movie) but I think he was a cigar smoker..

I dont know if I posted these anywhere, but heres my Katanga Ive been piecing together. I think a repaint and his head would look decent. I also looked in the parts bin and made Katangas pal or first mate. He needs a better holster and bandolier though. Im on the lookout.

I very much look forward to everyones future Katangas
