New head from Ryan over at OSW. New cape as well. Much happier with him. Got 2 of these heads so working on a more traditionally Steam Punk Supes with the other one.

After i finished Batman, I found an image online of a steam punk era Superman that I really liked so I tried to recreate it in figure form. This one doesn't necessarily have all the gizmos and gadgets one usually expects from steam punk but it fits in with the era and I really liked the pathos of the strongest man on the planet as a circus strongman in a rundown travelling carnival. I even added some holes in his singlet to heighten that idea,

The majority of Superman Elseworlds stories start from the conceit of Superman not being raised by the Kents in Smallville so this kind of carries on from that notion. Plus it ties in to the over all theme I have going for the steam punk Justice League, I am working on. Don't want to give too much away til I finish the whole team but keep an eye out for my Martian Manhunter for clues.
Thanks for looking.

I like the idea... but I think w/o the blue of the suit it doesn't quite remind me of Supes. Maybe a dark blue to fit with that style?

Re: Steam-Punk-ish Superman

Looks great, but I gotta agree with the need for blue.

What is that head from? I really like it.

Re: Steam-Punk-ish Superman

Cool idea, but really couldn't help seeing this...

Re: Steam-Punk-ish Superman

Nice idea, but I think the figure really needs gloves to get closer to a Superman look. And same for me concerning red and blue. Now it looks more like a backyard wrestler ;)

Re: Steam-Punk-ish Superman

That looks like my uncle Hector who gets drunk and runs around the house in his luchador costume. :clap

Re: Steam-Punk-ish Superman

Really dig this actually, haha. Crazy concept. Maybe a dark blue tank instead of black and it'd be a little more Superman-ish. Would look great with Perseus legs and a better, seamless upper body. Nice stuff!

Re: Steam-Punk-ish Superman

The suit it navy blue. The pictures are crap. As usual.

Think it would work great with leggings like supes has, red shorts, the low vest and exposed armed really put off the retro circus strongman feel which works for the steampunk feel, could really work with those tweaks, I do think a new headsculpt is required with more classics supes features

Good critique. As it is, doesn't remind me of Superman at all, even in an alternate universe. Cool idea, though. Looking forward to how your project develops.

Re: Steam-Punk-ish Superman

I think the blue jumpsuit is needed to really sell the Superman idea. Good so far.

Re: Steam-Punk-ish Superman

All that's left is a taco and a chest of pesos. :lol (j/k)

But yeah, I do agree with the other guys - the jumpsuit look would really do him wonders.

Re: Steam-Punk-ish Superman

I have a new head on the way. Bought it off a guy on OSW. It is a recast of an old unreleased 21st Century The Ultimate Soldier prototype.

If I remember it was supposed to be a fireman and it looks EXACTLY like the head in the original artwork. I will post new pictures when I get it in, paint it, and put it on the figure.
