These came out a while ago. They did retail for $300 (not Sideshow's price, they are just a distributor of this). It did not sell that well, and BBTS even ended up discounting them to $200.

Would have been cool if they made it more like a giant robot. It looks like a huge playskool toy to me.

I actually know the owners at Super 7. Even though I wouldn't buy this Stormtrooper they have some pretty cool Japanese mecha robots, Godzilla collectibles and all sorts of crazy stuff. They're in Japantown in San Francisco.

Thats the idea. The piece is made to looks like the 2 feet vinyl Mazinger, Grendizer and other giant robot anime from the 70s.

they even made the whole thing using the same material people used to in the 80s to build this.
This was really a labor of love and they made very few if I recall so I don't think the price is outrageous.

It's not for me but I understand people wanting this.

This sort of thing is why I hate collecting Star Wars, other than vintage Kenner, that is.

I saw this at CV and it's pretty cool, especially for kids of the 70s or Shogun Warrior collectors. It's fairly limited, so that explains the price.

Not to date myself, but these types of toys were big when I was a kid with the shooting fist thing (Voltron style). I would never bite on this, but if I happened into someone's collection and this thing was in it, I would mostly check it out first over other pieces..... mostly.

Just like other designer figures, it's expensive and targeted at a niche audience. Not anything I would ever buy but if people like the style and are willing to pay (clearly, SOMEONE's paying, since they're still in business), it's their money so hey, whatever.

Aren't we in a recession and waiting for Greece to cause a global economic catastrophe? Yeah, I'm sure we all have that amount of money lying around...for that!

So every luxury item should stop being made and offered because there are poor people in the word?

This site is proof that people don't give a flip about any recession or what happens in overseas countries.

I don't like Greek food. And I'd say the price is on par with other imported exclusive Shogun Warriors. But I wouldn't pay 3 hundee for that. Maybe if it were made out of LEGO.
