So I figured it'd be worth a shot to ask this here...

I've been trying to figure out how to plug in my Playstation 2 to my monitor. There's alot of literature on this topic but I can't really seem to figure these sorts of things out. I read it and it flys out of my head immediately...

What I can gather is I need some sort of converter for the red yellow white plugs from the ps2 to a female monitor plug. But this means I will have no audio...and I'm pretty sure that adapter doesn't exist. I suppose I need a VGA box of some sort, but I can't figure out which would work with my pc/monitor. It would be best not to have to plug and unplug my monitor over and over again..
This is what I'm guessing I need...

I have a mag innovision 900p lt917s monitor.

I don't care much about the quality of image as long as it isn't worse than my old ass beaten down tv was...(or laggy)

Any help would be greatly appreciated...

I've hooked up my Dreamcast and Xbox 360 to my monitor before, so I suppose I have a teeny bit of experience in this, but from what I've read doing the same for the PS2 is a lot more complicated.

You could probably get either of the items in your Amazon links to work, but you'd need a 3.5mm RCA sound adapter for your speakers: https://www.amazon.com/3-5mm-Right-Female-Adapter-Xbox-360/dp/B003LVFOK6/ref=pd_cp_e_3 Don't know about the video quality you'd get though. You could perhaps spend a bit more and get component PS2 cables (blue, green, red) as well as a component-to-vga adapter for better quality.

If you can find a vga adapter with a sound input for 3.5mm RCA (the plug that goes into your speakers), you could probably just give that a shot, though I have no idea about the video quality you'd get.

From what I've read the easiest and best solution would be to get a vga switch box with 3.5mm RCA input, like this one:
<object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="https://www.youtube.com/v/j-j7XlqmOos?fs=1&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="https://www.youtube.com/v/j-j7XlqmOos?fs=1&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>

Or this one:

Hope any of that helps.
