Terminator Salvation on DVD?

Terminator Salvation. The DVD and Blu-ray will have 30-40 minutes of additional footage, some of it definitely R-Rated but not for guts or gore.

McG tells Collider that the upcoming DVD/Blu-ray release of “Terminator Salvation” is going to have around half an hour to 40 minutes of deleted scenes.

Amongst the scenes being cut include John Connor giving Sarah Connor-esque speeches, Moon Bloodgood topless, and the alternate ending.

I hope this movie is good with the PG-13 rating. Unfortunately McG is still the director. Oh well, hopefully all that extra footage will be worth it.

For those that liked Terminator Salvation (myself included hey, its better than T3 by a country mile) this is great news for those that didnt... this could also be good news the connor speeches could add humanity to the movie the alternate ending...well let me see

"Connor dies, okay? He's dead," McG continues. "And Marcus offers his physical body, so Connor's exterior is put on top of his machine body. It looks like Connor, but it's really Marcus underneath. And all of the characters we care about (Kyle Reese, Connor's wife Kate, etc.) are brought into the room to see him and they think it's Connor. And Connor gets up and then there's a small flicker of red in his eyes and he shoots Kate, he shoots Kyle, he shoots everybody in the room. Fade to black. End of movie. Skynet wins. F--- you!"

it wouldve screwed the timeline over IMHO i mean if connor dies...who leads the resistance that was led by HIM in all the future scenes? It wouldve been a cool ending if Salvation was a stand alone movie though

It'd make sense though especially with the "We saw you and we liked what we saw" line from the attackers. I'm interested in seeing the alternate ending myself, especially since the leading news was that it was never filmed but I thought it was that Connor dies, Marcus assumes his body and only the inner circle knows about it?

I'm pretty sure that so-called ending was never filmed, just scripted. I definitely like the ending the movie had MUCH better...

I really would like to see an alternate cut of the movie with most of this 40 minutes put back in...while I like the movie a lot the way it is, my only real complaint is that it does have the feeling of being trimmed down to fit the 2 hour running time and there were some scenes that obviously ran longer...we've seen some evidence of that in the various trailers (eg: the "Resistance Headquarters/Sub" scene where Connor is talking about the T-800s coming on line)

I want to have a version in where everybody is nude. Only the Terminators should wear clothes ...

Anyway, I liked T.S. a lot and this Film is kinda big in Germany. All my Workmates were talking about it for allmost 2 weeks. The Russian DVD (R5)will be out on the 18th of august (it was supposed to be realesed on July 2th, but it was delayed a day before that).

The release date set for The Netherlands is December 15th.

So judging from that, the US release will be a month or 2 earlier I guess...

Again, I'm really glad they kept the ending we see...

Interesting that Bale may have liked that alternate one better when it's considered that it would have been a dramatic dead-end for his character in any future installments.

The current ending works much better in giving his character some dramatic pause as he goes on in how the war with Skynet is fought...the sacrifice of Marcus alters the future Connor has been expecting to unfold because of the messages from his mother...and now, the future is unknown and he has to lead the resistance based on his own judgment instead of the "roadmap" laid out by his mother. Makes for a potentially more interesting story than just having a Conner-Terminator chasing humans around and killing them in the next installment...

Anyway....now that the movie is disappearing rapidly from screens here in the US, an official announcement for the DVD/BR release should be coming soon...maybe at SDCC?
