Danny is awesome! i just dont see him Doing a Good score That i would listen to with out watching the movie. But i thought the same when Beltrami did T3 but he did an awesome job on it! so im hoping its good.

The lack of the T-theme disappointed me to no end in T3. Hold Elfman at gun point if you must...but the T-Theme MUST be in the film at all times. Action scene/T-Theme.

The T3 score was alright, I just thought the orchestra was too much of a departure from the the sythesisers of the first 2. I think the first 2 brad fiedel scores should have defined what a Terminator soundtrack ought to be. And the main Terminator theme as it appeared in the end credits of T3 was awful. Orchestra&Terminator main theme = wrong.

I was a bit dissappointed in T3's score not using enough of previously established themes, but where this film is all John Connor and Terminators but not the T-800, it should have new themes and use old themes to highlight flashbacks and things or like the first time Connor sees a T-800 in assembly, it'd be cool to overscore that moment.

As for Elfman, it'll be very interesting to see what he does. I like him, I own several scores he's done, but, he's also got a style and I'm a bit weary of that style in use for a Terminator movie, especially one that looks to be as dark as this one, and I'm not sure if he's capable of going outside that style, which this film needs. I won't say he's a bad choice until I hear it, but I will say hearing that he's behind it doesn't just give me instant comfort that it should rock. Of people currently doing film scores, I'd say Brian Tyler (Rambo) would have been a good choice.

Hmm, honestly I didn't notice a problem with T3's score. Elfman is an interesting choice, should be interesting to see what he does with it.

Heres hoping Elfman can bring back that "Feidel" feel to Salvation, the score is beyond vital to any film imo. I wanna hear more of that metal clinging noise mixed in there somehow :D

Also can we stop talking about T3 in this thread? Its hurting my brain :lol

dont get me wrong I respect danny elfman 100% is just that I wanted to see Brad Fiedel compose this one.

I want them to bring back the old feel of the best terminator movies.

Man !! I really pumped to see this movie and cant wait to see the T-600 TANK ENDOS just walking arround and killing all.

What about Mark Mancina of 'Speed' fame? Certainly Danny Elfman would not have been one of the first names to come to mind for a Terminator film.
