Ok so I ended up contacting SS becuse my TOD Indy had a broken belt and a wonkey eye. I sent the photos and in about a day they contacted me to say they were sending a replacement.

This actually made me stress a bit. I liked my present indy. Enough that I almost did not contact SS. What if they sent me a new one and the eyes were better but other things looked bad?? I loved how great the clothing was on my present indy (minus the belt) and I loved the paint job (minus the wonkey eye).

Well the replacement Indy arrived today and all I can say is WOW am I happy I filed that report. I can't get over what an improvment this paint job is over my old Indy. Not just the eyes, everything. I thought the weekness of this piece was the profile. It just did not look much like Harrison. Not now. It's perfect.

It's like SS went out of their way to make sure I got a quality painted statue. He came in just a brown box so someone had to look at him before he was shipped off.

The only thing that sucks is that I had to break the old one. Not an easy thing to do. Even with the wonkey eye it was still a work of art.

Anyways thanks again Sideshow!!!!

Here are some photos. Good Indy on the left. Wonkey Indy on the right.

Of course these photos have nothing on how great he looks in person.

good going on the replacement sideshow.

great peice JAWS. I've been going over in my head for the last week if I should buy him now or later ... he looks so so good. Sideshow really came through with him. And I know i will be kicking myself if i loose out on him.

Sideshow’s replacement policies are beyond awesome, and that’s more than a company who shall remain nameless. I hate that you have to break the damn piece. Why can’t sideshow just have it sent back, repair and resell it as a refurb or something? Just seems like such a waste for a work of art (as you said).

Either way, congratulations on an new addition to your collection. I only have seen this piece in person and I’m still hesitant about buying it because it doesn’t look as close to Ford’s likeness as the first one did … but damn I own Mola-Ram, this would make an awesome companion piece to that one.

Comparing the replacement to the original, it looks like they told the factory to go back and make more with better paint.

Sideshow replacement policy is awsome. It's really great that they lest you destroy the item after you recieve the other. That way there is no blank shelf space.

As the likness goes. I think this Indy (with the new paint) blows away my Raiders Indy. But I have seen some custom paints that look amazing on the original. I still think this is the better sculpt but both are great.

What I can't get over is how, at times, they look like different sculpts.

i know it's true now that a bad paint job can ruin a great sculpt.

That honestly looks like 2 completely different statues. Did they give you a prototype or something?

No clue. But I thought the same thing. The only other difference other then the paint job is that the original Indy had a very large bicep vein in his right arm. It really stuck out. Almost so much that it has like a bad mold of seam. '

The new one has hardly any vein.

All I know is that it is perfect. The type of paint they used was much more realistic. I am so happy.

I got this statue as insurance to my original because of the flacky jacket. I figured if I had this one I would not worry so much if the other jacket just flacked away. I would still be unhappy but at least I would have another great looking Indy. I am so happy I did this. Even with the old paint job I was happy. But this new one I am :yess::hi5::):1-1::rock2

Congrats on the replacement.

I gotta chime in on everything being said about the differences between the two. It's crazy that there would be such a huge difference in the quality!

Can anyone who has the TOD PF chime in about their particular piece? Is it like the old one or the new one?

Well I looked at a lot of photos before I pulled the trigger to buy this piece. I think for the most part everyone has quality pieces. I think an intern or something did mine. Since they are hand painted they all are going to look a little different. Without the new one to compare, I thought my old one looked great. And even when I got the new as long as I did not have them side by side I thought the old one still looked great minus the wonkey eye.

Totally agree with the paint job. I just got the Mola vs Indy and when I look at the photos of the proto, I love it, but when I look at my piece, I actually kind of hate it.

Wow, looks like a completely different sculpt and a change for the better on your replacement. Congrats!

I'd say my PF is more in line with the first one Jaws got, minus the wonky eye. It looks to me like the main difference is the more pronounced stubble and overall grittiness, and it's definitely an improvement! Kinda makes me mad that they couldn't all look that good. But congrats on your excellent replacement! :)

Congrats on the replacement!

I would say that mine is somewhere between the two in terms of paint quality...

those two are worlds apart in terms of paint, unfortunately mines near to your original. from i distance its perfect, close up it just looks slightly off
