This really surprised me when I was presented with a gift basket at the party. It was done last year, so I don't know why I was surprised - count it up to short term memory loss I guess. But it made it even better since it really was completely unexpected.
I'd really like to thank everyone that contributed - it was a very thoughtful gesture and the contents showed that I post way too much since you know me so well.
The DVDs of Robot Chicken were very appreciated - I love the show but never got around to getting the DVDs. Also trying to recruit me into Family Guy fandom may be a hopeless cause, but if anything can do it, it would have to be the Blue Harvest Star Wars parody. I'd seen Extras on HBO and thought it was funnier than The Office - so that was also appreciated. And I've been meaning to watch Top Gun again this decade (it's been 3 decades since I saw it?). And the Watchmen and Coraline blu-rays are also much appreciated.
Rounding out the basket were extremely generous Sideshow gift certificate and an Arclight gift card, some Watchmen buttons, a little robot and mama Bannister's world famous home-made tollhouse cookies - yum!
Thanks again, it's always great to be acknowledged as the great and powerful, not-so-benevolent dictator that rules with an iron glove.
