So I signed up for Sideshow collectibles because I planned on being a steady customer and love the quality/detail.

So upon signing up I got that $10 welcome discount (whoopty-doo) and ordered a Darth Malgus.

I ordered 3 other figures from this website totaling about a grand.

Upon further review of my Rewards points balance, I noticed I was missing the points from Darth Malgus.

After investigating further I realized because I used that $10 discount coupon, I forfeited my chance to earn the $200 dollars in rewards points.

Needless to say I'm quite upset/disappointed. I would MUCH rather cancel the $10 discount coupon and get the 200 dollars worth of points.

I sent an e-mail to sideshow but have a feeling I'll be hit with the standard "Sorry, it's in the fine print" response.

Has anyone run into this? Do you think the folks at Sideshow will work with me here? I personally believe this is quite ridiculous.

Thanks for your feedback.

The DM figure costs $184.99 on their website - where would you get $200 in Reward Points for this figure?

I suggest calling them asap. Their CSR's are very friendly and if you explain the situation they may cut you a break as a first time customer.

Unless you ordered the life size Malgus you actually only "lost" $9.25 in reward points. And yes it is in the fine print that you don't get reward points when you use any other discount.

Sounds like he saved an extra .75. Cause why would anyone buy the life size?

If most of your purchasing is with Sideshow, it's better to take the points and let them pile up than take the discount.

I usually only get the discount if I'm ordering something that is cheap. Otherwise, like EF says, the 5% in points is usually more.

To get $200 in Rewards Points, you would need to buy $4,000 worth of collectibles from Sideshow.

Yeah .... like previous posters have stated. If you bought $1000 worth of statues, your reward points would be $50 ... not $200. Reward points are 5% not 20%

You've gotta be mindful of the discount codes and rewards points and which gives you the better deal. For example, if you purchase a $200 figure, you'll get $10 in reward points which equals 5% of the purchase price. However, Sideshow give out discount coupons on an almost monthly basis for $20 off most products. If the $20 discount code is more than the reward points you'll miss out on with your purchase, go with the coupon. If you'll get more money back in reward points, don't use the coupon.

Oops sorry I didn't mean to imply I would be getting $200 worth of rewards points, just that I spent much and would have much rather gotten the points. Anyways, after I raged I check and saw the rewards points would have given me $9.25 versus the $10 discount but I think it's silly to have a "Welcome" Discount and have limitations on it. Oh well. I'll see what they say on Monday - like I said I bought a thousand dollars worth of stuff so maybe they'll cut me some slack. :D
