We've some pretty awesome console mods in our day, but an Iron Man-inspired Xbox 360 posted on eBay this week may be one of the most creative that we've encountered.

According to the listing, this beauty is the product of months of passionate nerd labor to create a Xbox 360 befitting of Tony Stark himself. The system features a fire engine red chassis with a metallic gold finished faceplate, and custom blue LED ring illumination. Most importantly, however, is that the right side panel has been modified and molded to resemble Iron Man's chest plate, complete with illuminated arc reactor. Upon initial startup, the reactor becomes illuminated and four cutouts surrounding it light up in unison with the standard indicator ring on the front. The hard drive even comes labeled with the Stark Industries logo.

The system comes with a matching red controller, 120GB hard drive, and of course a power cord and component cables.

As of the time this story was written, the current bid for the system was $1,075 with over 22 bids and over 5 days of bidding time left on the clock. The price is a bit steep for our tastes, but it's a cool mod all the same. Those with the spare cash and an undying love for Iron Man can learn more at the mod's official eBay listing.

That is so awesome! ..wish i had this coming back from repair instead of plain old normal 360:(..

I would say he should have modded one of the new consoles. (or is it? i can't really tell) :dunno

It's an old one, you can tell because the HDD is on the top.
I'm with dominishin though: A really glossy red would look better.

My god people are dumb. Its up to $3200. Seriously for that price why not just buy a whole iron man suit? :lol

Keith, you have to think of it as "art". Someone is willing to pay that price for what they consider a piece of art... that doesn't make them dumb. If it did, then we would all be dumb for paying the prices we do for lumps of plastic that don't even do anything. I guess you wouldn't pay much for the Mona Lisa then? After all, it is just some old paint on some old cloth...

Did you see the quality of the paint job on the xbox not the Mona Lisa? :lol:gah:

That does look really cool but I wouldn't pay over retail price for it. My VG consoles can be modeled to look like a hunk of ____ and I won't care just as long as they don't bust on me within a year and have good games.

Super cool looking mod.
