IGiven they're essentially going with Peter being a victim of genetic engineering by his father, applying that to explain a hulking Rhino villain isn't really all that far a stretch now, is it? And nobody said Norman couldn't inject a "dumb Russian guy" to make him a dumb Russian Rhino. The bayformer Rhino is lame, and their aversion to sticking close to any of the original source material, but backtracking on Spider-Man's look is hypocritical at best.
:goodpost: :exactly: :monkey4

It's "The Amazing Spiderman: Rise of Electro" on the international trailers.
You know... for Russia it was incredibly stupid "New Spider-man" in 2012.
Now it's even more retarded - "New Spider-man: High Voltage" :slap

I can't begin to describe how excited I am for this.
Well your completely original avatar says it all :monkey3

So this shaggy haired fellow with the hat, we speculated further as to who he is?

I dunno why but I get the impression that he could be the Tinkerer, perhaps he developed most of the tech for Oscorp

Either that or he's the chameleon, he could be very dangerous and creepy if done right

I've been thinking about it and I think he's gotta be Mysterio. For starters he's awfully mysterious. :lol He's pulling alot of strings in the background, they gotta be doing something similar to the Klum version.

From the wiki :

Francis Klum is a mutant with the ability to control people's bodies to do anything he wants them to without actually controlling their minds. He is also a long-range teleporter who can teleport his body to other locations, as well as other objects to and from his present location. His costume features an electrically-charged cloak, boots with magnetic plate springs and mechanical smoke ejectors that produce a concealing mist, and gloves which emit a web-dissolving acid spray and electric bolts. He is self-educated in the use of mechanical/visual special effects and illusion.

Sound familar? + Quentin version also has mechanical knowlege, I think he's an Oscorp experiment working for Normy. It makes sense building twoard the S6 as well.

I'm not happy about Dahaan as Goblin, but I have to say, those scenes in the trailer that appear to be in the Oscorp offices make him look very sinister

Speaking of sinister, even though it's a given, has anyone noticed that the containers are numbered up to six?

Both have very good points. I'm leaning more towards Chameleon only because of the possible 'life model decoys' arc coming into play down the road and the more involved history (ie. story arcs) Chameleon has with Oscorp. But honestly, could see it being Dmitri or Quentin. Time will tell.

I just noticed a decent size 'Disney' sign in the background of the trailer, when Spidey catches the NYPD car. :lol

Just read a rumor floating around that the 'Doc Ock/Vulture' armor scene is actually the post-credit scene for ASM2. Just a rumor, but still. They did kind of ruin the post-credit scene for ASM, in a similar fashion. And it would make sense that they would continue to keep this guy's identity a secret, carrying about his business, until the third or fourth installment. So much on the plate already.

Some food for thought.

Is this Richard Parker?

If so, looks like we'll be seeing the plane crash that killed Pete's parents and how it happened

That would definitely be cool if it were a flashback to Richard Parker, but if that indeed takes place in a plane (ie. the infamous plane crash), it can't be right because we saw a much older Richard Parker drop off Peter in ASM1.

Unless....he was a clone....Interesting. Thus, supporting the Chameleon theory.

I thought the plane crash was the reason why Spider-Man was 'skydiving' in the beginning of the trailer. Just speculation though.

Depends on how long after leaving Peter that he died

If he died at all that is...

But the guy in the clip (if it indeed is Ben) is way younger than the Ben we saw in ASM. See what I mean? (Assuming, like we said, that is Ben (the brown-haired one) and it's the real Ben, at that.)

Are we on about the same guy? I mean the grey old man being thrown down by the pilot

That's the problem. We are not. :lol

I thought you thought that the brown-haired guy was Ben Parker from a flashback, which is what I was thinking. But after further look at the shot, I can see that the grey-haired one does look like Ben Parker....

Hmmmm.

So you're thinking possible family reunion (or pseudo-reunion with a clone)? That's what I'm thinking. Of course, I could be WAY off.

I'm thinking we see what happened on the plane, it somehow links with the present, but I wouldn't be completely surprised if Richard Parker was still alive

I'm also thinking, could the guy throwing Richard Parker down be the Chameleon, I'm getting chameleon vibes off of him!!

I need to stop speculating

We're on the same page. :rock I agree. Reeks of Chameleon, if they're pulling from the comics.

And speculation is half the fun. It builds the hype! That's practically all I did, while waiting for the first one. :lol
