This movie is going to be good for one thing. Hot Toys producing the best Spidey yet. :lol

The bad thing about this is, everything that looks great is so whacko.
The Rhino mech looks well done, but its just so far off center for what could have been, the effects look superb, but the characters themselves look laughable. The Spidey core stuff seems to be dead on tho; the webbing Gwen to the car, just awesome.

So, I guess some true split down the middle over what I've seen so far.

have no expectation for this after the first BS ... like the Toby Trilogy way better so far :)

too bad he says it to Dr. Freeze Claw and not Electro. :(

That "joke" is so old...

I don't know if you're trolling or just can't comprehend, but I'll attempt to break it down into simpler terms for you;

What i can see of the Rhino mech looks well done, just because I don't like it nor approve of it as a substitute for a proper Rhino, doesn't mean that i can't think it looks "cool". Same with Electro, although I think they are doing a poor take on him, the effects look very well done. I'm an adult, I am able to give credit where its due, even if I don't agreee with it.

The core stuff surrounding Peter looks great; the bed scene with Aunt May and him webbing Gwen to the car. No great surprises, I enjoyed Garfield as Parker in the first movie and love the gwen they chose and the personality they went with. Again my bones in the first movie were just a poorly utilized "super" lizard and the way he was utilized.

Also, the big elephant in the room of no appearance/mention/set up of JJJ, one of the most iconic and arguably top three Spidey support characters.

So, yes, I like the "flash" as much as the next guy, but unfortunately, I also need some substance to back it.

Agree. They're just not sure what to do with a newspaper reporter.

Couple of ways to handle it.

Bring him in in the third one as the FORMER editor of the Bugle, which is NOW defunct as Print news is slowly dying. He REformed it into a News Blog and sold it off.

What did he do with the money he gained?

JJJ Is Running for Mayor of Ney York. Good "background event" for the third film.

If theyre setting up 3-4 amazing Spidermen movies, Venom, and a Sinister Six movie, they need to save a few characters like JJJ. Knowing Brock is working for the Bugle already from the viral, I wouldn't be surprised if Jameson showed up for the first time as a character in Venom.

Rhino will be back in the Sinister Six and since the liklihood of him having rebuilt a multi million dollar mech suit are slim to none, we'll almost certainly see him mutate, likely courtesy of Doc Ock and his Oscorp access.

In the meantime we're getting or setting up Rhino, Electro, Green Goblin, Norman Osborn, Shadow Guy, Doc Ock, Vulture, Venom, Morbius, probably BJ Novak as Smythe, several other possible referances and Lizards still out there. Jameson has a presense through all the Bugle related material everywhere in the movie and arg. I'd say it's plenty for being only half way done a series of movies. Plus we won't even get MJ in this movie so why comlain about Jameson already.

JJJ is not a Spidey love interest to set up, hes an iconic support character from issue 1 of Spiderman, and major character from all the old school SPidey cartoons, who was already featured as a cover super villain before MJ was even a character in the comics. :slap

The point is obviously that theres still alot to come and they need to save some story.

Why shoehorn in Peter working at the Bugle if it's going to take away from the rest of the story they are telling right now. He's clearly going to be focused on discovering his parent's mystery and killer atm. And he's only graduating high school this movie, it makes sense he wouldn't have an adult job.

And I'm sure the people *****ing about 3 villains wouldn't ***** about the addition of another in Jameson. Like I said, we'll probably see him in Venom, Brock will be in far greater need of well known secondary characters. And putting off replacing JK Simmons as long as possible doesn't hurt either, he was easily the greatest thing about the first 3.

Never really saw JJJ as a villain in the antagonist sense, more of a plot device to keep the story challenging.

He didn't even have to work at the Bugle to have Robby and JJ show up in a scene to set the stage for these characters in the future, which is why it would be so easy, and why replace Simmons, he seems to be the universal OMG this character just came to life right off the pages of the comic. Just like the advertisement for the Bugle in the background of the new trailer, why bother, right? Why would they do that? None of this should be difficult with a semi skilled and astute creative team.

I agree. I'm in no rush for Jameson and with so much on their plate for the next few movies i'd be satisfied to see him introduced in the next phase of movies

Well that's my point, he is set up. The Bugle exists, Brock works there, we're getting a Venom film. Is there really anyone who doesn't think JJJ is coming? Why do you need to actually see his body.

And I agree, bring back Simmons, who cares. You put Stan Lee in every Marvel movie ever, you've got M and Q in like 21 Bond films, why not.

And as for him being a villain, it depends what version you go with but he's constantly turning the public opinion against Spidey, he works with Norman to try to actively kill him, and he's responsible for the Scorpion so he's not exactly just another name calling Flash Thompson type.

Nah we need JJJ. He's essential to the spiderman lore. He's a very important character as he is the one responsible for the city turning on spidey.
