Yeah there really isn't anything new in the film at all. The best scenes are the Peter/Gwen dialogue scenes because the actors work so well together.
None of the action is new and we have to deal with more people turning into villains and developing a hatred of Spider-Man for no rational reason.
It's still a very enjoyable film and I really liked - but something new would have been welcome.
It's not a patch on The Winter Soldier.

Wouldn't bother me so much if every Spider-Man film didn't use the tired misunderstood villain. I hate the sympathetic villain. I want someone who's evil just because they want to be. And they hate Spider-Man because he is preventing their evil schemes. That would be new. TWS did a great job by having Robert Redford be an evil *******. No apologies for it. Spider-Man tries to give every villain a tragic backstory.

He's a lot more comfortable with it - more humorous.

and with regards to Gwen being dead before she hits the ground, according to the comic, Peter catching her with his web snaps her neck - they appear to have gone with this idea in the film because it looks like he has caught her but you do see her bend back quite drastically but it never actually says it

Also, Jamie Foxx's teeth have a gap when he's a normal guy. When he's Electro the gap has gone.

About Electro :mwaha :mwaha :mwaha :mwaha :mwaha

Movie is getting torn apart everywhere good thing I'm going into this movie thinking it will suck.

I’m scared, I figured this would at least be much better than ASM1. If this turns out to be really underwhelming, then Marc Webb has to go.

Everything you said I might enjoy this more then cap 2 which I wasn't fond of .

Saw it tonight. Very entertaining, Garfield nails Spidey. Full of genuinely funny moments, the villains all suck, nice nods to the comics, but it's all about Peter and Gwen, and they are both great.

Where would you rank it with the other Spiderman films?

Honestly, it's my favourite. I LOVE Raimi's Spider-Man 2, but can't stand Tobey as Spidey, the only redeeming things in that film are Molina and the train fight. This film has scope; it feels big. The villains don't really matter, you really care for Peter in this.

Clunky opening and parental ******** aside, it has lots of cool Spidey moments, great use of the webshooters, there's a very nice montage of Spidey saving people, hiding his suit from May, cool 2001/Inception ceiling work, it just feels like a great Spider-Man film. And man, it is funny as hell at times.

The audience I was with burst out laughing several times, all when Garfield was on screen. Yes, people will ***** about the villains, Gobbie just sucks, but DeHaan is great as just Harry. I went to it for Spider-Man and it delivered. I'm not comparing to Cap, they're very different films.

Well, this mini review just got me excited again.

This did not beat ASM for me. Which I loved.

What were your problems with it Snake Eater? Any redeeming qualities?

Well I really don't know where to begin.

Villains motives were laughable.
Scenes had no real cohesiveness.
Some effects were poor in parts.
Not enough spidey for me.
Poorly edited.
Foxx as Max was just TOO OTT. I know what they were going for but it just didn't work.
Rhino was a joke.
Dr Manhattan ?!

Spideys suit looked fantastic however.

Saw this tonight, really enjoyed it. But as one review stated its only the second best spider man 2. Dehaan was good as harry, though his story felt a little rushed. The chemistry between Garfield and stone was brilliant and as mentioned its very funny, I expected Chris cooper to be in it more but he's pretty much just a cameo. There are mentions of JJ which are nice, it would have been great to see him though, and he and parkers first meeting.

Oh I liked the little lightning bolt logo on electro's arm too, cheesy yet awesome. Oh and zimmers soundtrack was very cool.

Did he run out of Web fluid in the movie?

I'm curious where people are seeing this movie being "torn apart everywhere" or it getting "so many bad reviews", because it isn't. It really isn't. If people have an existing problem with this movie before they've even seen it, don't try and make it so that your prejudice is justified by making up a general consensus to this movie. Because it isn't.

Gets an 8/10 from me, my second favourite Spidey movie now after Spider-Man 2. Definitely felt like it was the most "comic book" Spider-Man movie so far. I'm looking forward to seeing where they take this franchise.

Good post, I thought the same. I've been reading a lot of reviews, sure they are not all positive but overall they are good to great.
Very positive.
