Enjoyed the film quite a bit. Didnt feel too congested and I would have liked more scenes with Harry and Peter and I thought Paul Gimatti was bloody awful. Much better than ASM1 but still not a patch on SM2. Electro should be called Dub step man but i'll refer to him as Skrillex. Liked his character more than I expected.

Saw it, and I loved it!

It really felt like Webb took the first two Rami films, 616 comics, Ultimate comics, and Spectacular Spiderman cartoon, put all of them in a blender, and out came TASM2.

Unfortunately I just couldn’t wait 2 weeks and ended up downloading the movie. After watching it, my excitement has gone up even more, and I can’t wait to catch this in IMAX 3D opening night.

-First and foremost, the movie has heart, something I felt like TASM one lacked. The scene with Spidey saving the kid from his bullies was really touching, and nails who Spiderman is as a character. It’s one of my favorite scenes ever put in a superhero movie.

-Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone once again are perfect in their respective roles. Great chemistry and their relationship was written very realistically. They weren’t a perfect couple, which I liked.

-The 3rd act was absolutely amazing, very powerful, suspenseful, and quite different, compared to what we usually see in most superhero movies these days.

-The cinematography was nice, some very strong, crisp and colorful images that stick in your head. I hated the dark gloomy look of TASM1.

-The editing could have been better. I’m guessing that had to do with some last minute decisions to remove scenes that were still being advertised.

-Dehaan was great as Harry. I thought he was just okay as the Goblin though. It was clear the fake teeth made it hard for him to talk and their wasn't really much of him as the Goblin. I don't mind that though as it just made me look forward to seeing more of him in future films. His laugh was great too. It's no surprise by now that Dehaan plays tortured very well. I loved the scenes with Harry and Electro. The transformation scene was also very creepy and well done.

-I was actually quite surprised how much I enjoyed Jaime Foxx as Electro/Max, his design wwas visually stunning, and Foxx was very menacing. Before that, his character was less cliche than I initially thought he was going to be, a little overdone, but I actually did feel bad for him. He was a perfect contrast to Spiderman in my opinion. What if the wrong person, was given incredible power? Unlike Peter, he was an outcast who used his powers to be looked at as a god.

-Sally Field was perfect as Aunt May. Her scene with Peter was very emotional and very well done.

-Spidey's costume looked beautiful. His quips seemed more natural and were funnier overall. I liked the way they showed off his spidey sense.

-The action and effects overall were very well done. The Dubstep worked well to compliment Electro's powers though I thought it was a bit over-used in places. At times I found the sound design a bit too loud so I'm looking forward to being able to watch it a home so I can raise and lower the volume as I please. Sometimes I found certain songs to be a bit overwhelming.

-It was great seeing how much the people of NY loved Spidey. Was a hundred times better than 'You mess with one of us, you mess with all of us!".

-Was disappointed there was no Flash Thompson as I felt he was very good in the first movie.

-Chris Cooper as Norman Osborne is perfect casting. He only had one scene, but man, was he good in it. Saying that I can’t wait to see his turn as Green Goblin would be an understatement.

-I felt the pacing was perfect. I never once felt like the movie was too long.

-A few scenes I really liked off the top of my head
Spidey thanking Gwen for her Web-shooter idea
Peter’s emailed response from JJJ
Harry and Peter’s first scene together
Gwen and Max’s elevator conversation

-It didn’t really feel like this was the same series as ASM 1. Plot wise it's hugely connected but visually and tonally it feels very different. Missed the spider like quality of his movement that the first movie had, such as when he cocoons the Lizard in webs. It felt like Curt Connors was cut out completely and replaced with Norman Osborn in the backstory of Peter’s parents.

- The revealing trailers are really a disservice to the movie. I’m shocked at how much they revealed, I hope for TASM3 they cut back on the trailers, and promote it like DOFP is being promoted.

Overall, I give it an 8/10, just a few little problems that didn’t really work for me (how Electro and Rhino make up their names), but overall a great film. I can't understand the mixed reviews it's been getting. I felt like I was watching a different film than the one described in most of the reviews I had read. Definitely my favourite Spider-Man film. Probably on par with TWS, though I might have liked this a bit more. This really felt like a live action comic book. So far this summer is 2 for 2.

very nice review hope i feel the same way as we both share the same opinions about the older films.

Fell in love with Emma Stone all over again watching this, Garfield is Spider-Man imo but i didn't feel the film was anything special other than those 2, would say 7/10

but that isn't saying much..IM2 is a disjointed mess of a movie..misfiring many times

I only compared it to IM2 because it was mentioned in topic. I think it was mentioned in conversation about why other movies get away with being garbage and so much hate is being thrown at this before anyone even see's it...
That was before a lot of people saw it. :lol

As Neo said this is a much better movie than the majority of Superhero films of late.
Emma Stone is heartbreakingly adorable in this. And not cheesy, cliched good, just excellent performance and chemistry
with Garfield. Pretty obvious I guess.

I think you will, I enjoyed it a lot more than Spiderman 1 and 2. I still like those films, and I like Tobey, but this just felt like the comics brought to life.

Exactly, but what happened to it? It was supposed to be going to introduce ASM 3 and the Sinister Six.

It's in the movie. Harry is locked up near the end and orders Oscorp to begin putting together the sinister six starting with Rhino. They also show that shot of Ock's claws and the Vulture wings at that point. They don't show the Symbiote or Norman's head in the other bays however.

Yup. So I caved and watched a bootleg version. Yup I know I cheated but to be fair this movie should of came out in the fricken states first. Anyway I wont put a review up til I see it in the theater, damn bootleg kept skipping scenes and the camera guy was probably an ape of some kind. I will say this though its better than the first.
I'll do a better review once I see it better in the theater. When it comes to spidey i give into temptation.

so none of you guys ever get worried about getting sued and stuff?I cant wait, but just too afraid of that. One thing is to watch stuff online when it has come out already or is on dvd....bit this:horror

There is a difference between downloading and streaming.

I caved and watched it too, sorry Sony, you ****ed up releasing it in just 1 country. It was good, better than the Raimi stuff but I think I liked ASM more. This has more action and will be more rewatchable but the first had better emotional depth for the most part. The end was pretty emotional however. Harry was handled ok but I still would have vastly preferred Norman. Wasn't as bad as say the Mandarin in IM3 though, not by a long shot. I'll be paying to see it again when it hits theaters here, no doubt about that.

My breakdown :

ASM - 8/10
ASM2 - 7/10
SM2 - 6/10
SM - 5/10
SM3 - 3/10

wait so streaming is fine for movies that just came out?

It's not by any means fine, it just makes it more difficult to prove you did something illegal short of accidentally opened a random web page. As opposed to having a hard copy of their property on your machine. That's my understanding anyway, I've never seen them go after someone who streamed it, I could be wrong. I don't usually do it but I couldn't avoid spoilers and everything else anymore. I'll still see/buy it when it comes out to support it.
