the beginings of custom Han Head

I have the Bespin Han on order, and I thought I wold have a go at modifying the spare Indy head. I cut the hair from one of my many Hasbro Hans.

yeah, I'm going to re paint the face to take the shine off of it, and to cover up the 'Indy stubble'.
I hope this is going to look as good as I image it to be as it will be my first custom head and repaint.
(Mods feel free to move this to the customs if it is not in the right section)

not the best lighting conditions, it's 5pm here in the Uk, so it's lights on!

here's the latest update on Han. repainted and without hair!
obviously being this close you can see my crappy paint job, but with the naked eye it looks better. Not it the same league as the fantastic painters on here I hasten to add.

and with hair. the hair is not stuck down yet, I am still trying to get the right positioning.

Hmm, I don't know what to say. The hair isn't right in my opinion. Han's hair really is as tall as the SSC head.

I'd say don't attach the wig just yet and see if you can cut off the Bespin Han's hair.

It hadn't occurred to me to try and scalp another figure for the hair. I do think that it's going to be difficult to make it look entirely natural, but it looks pretty darned good in this shot:

I'll have to agree with that. Harrison did sport quite a coif in Empire. The Hasbro hair looks very flat. You might even try looking at the ANH Han hair minus the sideburns.

The hair styling looks really nice, but I'd recommend more body. The hair looks so thin and so close down to his head that i makes the upper half of his head seem too short. Keep the shapes you have and just give them a little more body and I think you'll have it.

I am not a huge Star Wars fan, but to me it looks damn fine. I do agree with more body in the hair though.

thanks for the comments, and I agree that the hair is a bit too flat, but I think for the moment I am happy with it. I won't be gluing the hair down, so I can always change it later on.

I've heard the eyes should be at the center of the head. The top of the head is too short compared to the bottom.

I'm currently doing the same thing but using the hair from a SSC Smuggler Han.

I do agree that the hair should be "taller".

I think it looks pretty damn good, quite honestly. The textured stubble kind of sucks, but there's not a whole lot you can do with that and I think you improvised nicely. The hair could use a little body, sure, but I don't think it's anything to sweat about.

I bet if you tossed him onto a Bespin Solo body right now he would still look pretty sweet. And probably better than the SS version.

thanks guys, I appreciate all the comments. My paint work doesn't look very good close up and lit under yellow indoor lights, but in the daylight today he looks better.
I'm not sure how I'm going to bulk up the hair, apart from maybe scalping the Bespin Han when he arrives.
I guess if I balls it up I can always buy ANH Han

The only thing that is bothering me now, is that compared to my other SSC Star Wars people, Hans head looks a bit on the small side. How ironic is that?
I got Jedi Luke today and his head is massive compared to Hans. I put Luke on the Pro body as Indy is on a TT. Luke is now as tall as Han, but the clothes fit better.
okay these are the finall shots for the moment until the Bespin Han arrives (hopefully tomorrow) there are still a few spots to paint rounf the hairline as you can see.
