An early announcement to retailers indicates that Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment will release its animated classic Bambi on Blu-ray on March 1, 2011, as part of the Diamond Collection, in a BD/DVD combo edition. This 1942 movie has had its picture and sound thoroughly restored for this release.

A similar edition with DVD packaging will also be released at the same time.

Special features include:

'Raging Bull: 30th Anniversary Edition' Announced for Blu-ray

Martin Scorsese's story of boxer Jake La Motta will celebrate its 30th with a high-definition double dip this January.

In an early announcement to retailers, 20th Century Fox/MGM has scheduled 'Raging Bull: 30th Anniversary Edition' starring Robert De Niro, Cathy Moriarty, and Joe Pesci for a Blu-ray re-release on January 11.

The biopic was nominated for eight Oscars (including Best Picture and Best Director) and won two -- including Best Actor for De Niro.

The Blu-ray is expected to feature 1080p video, a DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 soundtrack, and most (if not all) of the previous bonus materials as well as a few new supplements and will be a Blu-ray/DVD combo pack.

Suggested list price for the Blu-ray is $29.99.

In an early announcement to retailers, Starz/Anchor Bay looks to be releasing 'The Walking Dead: Season One' starring Andrew Lincoln, Jon Bernthal, Laurie Holden, Sarah Wayne Callies, and Emma Bell on Blu-ray in the near future.

Specs, supplements, and a release date have not been set yet, but suggested list price for this set is $49.99.
