With the hack Ruindriguez is directing the final episode, this BOBF show feels like heading towards the impending doom. Filoni is reportedly in charge of both writing & directing episode 6, hopefully he could deliver the same level of greatness just like he did with Ahsoka episode before the inevitable cringe returns in the finale.

The Mandalorian series set the bar really high for The Book of Boba Fett. Mando was so good, the same folks would do a stellar job with BF, right? Or so one would think. With Mando, the slate was basically clean, the parameters were wide. They had a lot of working space. BF has a history, and though mysterious, we all had an expectation of what the character should be. I think Favreau and crew missed the mark. I don't think they decided on what they wanted before filming. Is he a TR adoptee? A crime boss? Bounty Hunter? A Mandalorian that hates wearing his helmet? A guy obsessed with saying "I am Boba Fett?" I don't know. The series will painfully stumble along. All the episodes are in the can. I hold little hope for redemption. If there is a season 2, hopefully they will turn it around.

What is going on with Favreau? There is something very fishy about all of this business surrounding the writing of this show. Is it even possible that the same person who wrote the rest of this garbage also wrote this episode? This feels a lot like a college kid who failed everything for an entire semester then paid someone to take his final exams and suspiciously got the best score in the class.
Exactly what I was just talking to my son about after we both watched the episode. I'm starting to believe wild conspiracies about Disney wanting to destroy all that was Lucas and pave the road for new characters. What I cannot fathom is how awesome Boba was in season 2 of Mando and how utterly dumb he is in BoBF. It's a combination of bad writing, bad cinematography, bad directing, bad acting (Morrison) and too much helmet off. Then we get to this episode and the writing is great, cinematography, including CGI is great, directing great, acting great and the helmet on/off is literally discussed and we are all reminded to LEAVE THE &*$&% HELMET ON!!!! Oh, and the comedy relief worked fine because it wasn't the bada$$ main character playing the doofus, it was Grandma Ripley who works well as a goofy sidekick. My head cannon is now Mando's season 1 and 2 and this episode. My Boba is still sitting on the throne with hot Fennic after gunning down Fortuna.

Turd, I'm sorry for ever doubting your rants and trying to rationalize the crap that came before this!

Well stated...and I cannot imagine ever saying this six weeks ago but I hope there is no season 2 of a show titled after my all-time favorite fictional character. :gah:

PREACH. And it’s sad that it’s become Disney’s raison d’etre to tear down old characters in order to elevate new ones.
But it’s even sadder that at this point, in this show, I’ll take whatever pleasure I can get from it. The irony is literally lost on nobody that the best episode so far of The Book of Boba Fett is the one that Boba Fett doesn’t even appear in. How did that not occur to Favs and Filoni? Like, we have to expect that it’s purposeful at this point, right? Maybe even story related?
It sure seems purposeful at this point. How can it be anything other than deliberate espionage of a classic character? What I don't get is why make him awesome in Mando only to make him a total doofus?

This is the way

Was there a reason as to why they had to delay filming for Mando S3? They must have scheduled to film Boba first and had a plan in place. :dunno
Pedro has been a busy boy, I’m sure recording a few voice lines is much easier than getting him on set for a whole season, especially now that he is willing to remove the helmet

I read recently that most of Mando S3 is just the stunt guy anyway. Pedro only has to make an appearance once or twice a season and record voice work.

I am pretty confident Boba is going to join Mando at the end of this season and go to Mandalore. Giving up this whole daimyo dream of his-- maybe even giving it to Fennec or something.

I like the focus on the commercial liner. It takes me back to the old Lando trilogy (The Mindharp of Sharu).

So many protagonists have their own ships and have piloting skills, but star liners add a real, and ironically grounded, accent to the universe. This is how most individuals would have to travel.

It's what I also like about the stories that take us to see how people live in this universe.

I just love seeing small slices of the galaxy like this, really adds a lot to the universe.

Just finished it...

That was a great episode...of The Mandalorian!

Howard's directing is getting better with each outing. Puts the "Z" team that has been doing this show to shame. Anybody else get the vibe that BOBF was just 6 episodes and this was a late entry to act more as a prequel to Mando S3 than anything?

Here's hoping that Filoni spares us the cartoon baloney and puts out a good episode before RR returns for the crash-and-burn finale.

I think BOBF is going to go down as one of the great missed opportunities/ what could been moments of Disney Star Wars.
