If it had been a Boba episode it could have easily been double that. Harder to joke about a good episode.
Hey, I'm with you in regards to the EU, but if I had to choose between an AU where the ST concluded by following TLJ's set up, or this one where we're stuck with the mediocre atrocity that is TROS, I'm choosing the former.
That was merely an example of where else such a beat was done before. Kreia's goals weren't related to Kylo's plans, but it was similar in that it was a "death of the Jedi/Sith philosophies" approach. Which not even KotOR II managed to do properly as it was left rather unfinished. Regardless, TLJ didn't have someone like the Exile running around, it was a different type of story; it just tackled a similar thing. How is the story going into a "wholly new direction" if they simultaneously give us a story "akin to KOTOR II?"
They really didn't. The "Force Dyad" came down to two people being really, reeeeaaaaalllyyyy power Force users and then the gud guyz winning with Rey... blocking Palpatine's eeeeeebiiiiillll lightning while saying "I am all the Jedi" as a response to his "I am aaaalll the Siiiiiith". That's the opposite of a Force Dyad. TLJ left things in a way where both the Sith and the Jedi were out of the picture, so you had neither autistic monks nor drugged-up maniacs running around. It came down to two people trying to establish new sets of rules in regards to the Force. Kylo's militaristic views would evolve into a philosophy of Glory and Power, without the needless Sith backstabbing, which worked way back when, but ultimately left them hollow. TLJ was him growing out of LARPing as an edgelord because that's what he thinks all ebil dictators have to be, and realising that he's a conqueror. Rey could've used the chance to create her own school of thought, something closer to the original Jedi and not the bureaucratic mess that led to their fall. Accepting emotions and controlling them, instead of trying to shut them down. Or in a bigger twist, she could've joined Kylo and went to create a new governing body. A new Empire, now not being Palpatine's personal playground, but a genuine political authority with a plan for its continuation and its people.Because they *did* continue with a Force Dyad type of story but as you said they just went the Dark Empire route as opposed to KOTOR (or something else.) With the end result just coming down to preferences (I'm not familiar with KOTOR so that doesn't mean anything to me compared to DE which I like a lot) as opposed to being a matter of backpedaling.
All I see is haphazard, last-minute copying and nothing of worth in it. I lament the loss of the EU, but I also believe TLJ left a small inkling of worthy stories to tell, even after all it broke. TROS just ruined everything. Current comics are breaking their backs trying to make all the dumb nonsense in it make sense.I know people think that TROS somehow tried to course correct TLJ Luke but it played as a direct continuation to me. In ESB Yoda told Luke to his face that one day he'd give in to fear, he did so by going to the island (and admitted to Rey that her power greatly scared him) but then before TLJ even ended Yoda appeared to show Luke the error of his ways which then tracked with his confession in TROS that he "was wrong" to go into exile on the island. And going back to Dark Empire it was TLJ that introduce Force Projection on the big screen which had its origins in DE so TROS doubling down on that was fair play to me and again not a backpedal. But I digress, and realize that most of my points on the ST fall on deaf ears.

Also, Jesus, is that Luke's other-other clone, Chaduke? What is it with that jawline and hair?

TLJ has a lot of problems. As an EU guy, it's not how I'd do things. But by killing off Snoke and going the way of the Sith/Jedi coming to an end, it provided a chance to go into new directions that moved the franchise forward. Instead we got Jedi vs Sith again, poor adaptations and a set-up that ultimately doesn't work now that all the characters people cared about are dead/don't exist. I don't give a rat's arse about Rey's New Jedi Order. Luke's not there, Mara and Kyle aren't there, Han & Leia are dead, the Solo kids don't exist; so what's the point?
A triumphant trilogy of the old heroes coming back and battling villains in a nostalgia-bait would've been acceptable if pulled off properly, because that's what we wanted to see as a baseline. But ultimately, what did we end with? What is the state of the SW Post-ROTS? Where does the story go from here? Well, there's Rey and... yeah, that's it. Everyone else is ******* dead. And she defeated "aaaallll the Siiith" so now she's "aaaallll the Jeeeeeddiiii". So she'll go set up some new Jedi school or whatever other dumb nonsense cares about. TROS effectivelly killed off SW. It closed the chapter on the Skywalkers by ruining them, and now the only way forward is to do some totally disconnected stories. TLJ broke the narrative, but it gave us some avenues to go down on. TROS just dropped an atom bomb on it all.

Also, Palpatine canonically came back in Fortnite.
That alone makes TROS an abomination and places TLJ above it.
...why so angry?
Keep Beta Fatt away from anything Chadalorian related. What, do you want Din to get killed? Huh? Is that you want? Anything could happen with Unca Beta as your handler. Forgetting to load your weapons in your ship, installing no-kill modules into your armour because he's going through another pacifist state, shutting down the comms centre to play with his Banthas and Rancors; who knows?!
Look, I have the perfect solution. Beta Fatt gets killed for being a stupid cishet man. It'd be poetic to have some past kindness come back to bite him in the arse. Some random coming and whacking him from behind because he's a slow, inept, moronic failure of a "crime lord". Fennec takes over his enteprise. Everyone comes to clown on him at his funeral. The entire episode is shorts of each person sharing an embarassing story involving Beta Fatt. It's directed by Mommy Bryce. Everyone screams "Yaaaaasss Kweeeen Slaaaayyyy". Social Media points are won. Beta Fatt is no more. Robert Rodriguez never works on SW again because he's a heckin cishet male stealing the limelight from women directors. And nobody speaks of "The Picture Book Of Beta Fatt" ever again.
Eh, I'm not that much into Alien, and I don't think such a small universe can be compared with SW. I'd say TLJ is like... Post-HoM X-Men. House Of M and the Decimation ruined a lot of fan-favourites and turned things upside down, but on the other hand they gave us some good stories with the Mutants being reduced to such a small amount and then having to fend off for themselves. That's what we'd have gotten had SW progressed past TLJ, flaws and all. TROS is like if after a year of publication Wanda was revealed to be possesed by the Shadow King, who made her say "no more mutants" for ***** and giggles, and then they all have a big feast, but somewhere along the way Cyclops, Emma and whoever else died, and the final panel centered on bloody Karma or whatever. Which is what we got in regards to SW.TLJ is Aliens 3.
I haven't seen TROS, but I imagine Alien Resurrection fits the bill.
I'm a Joker!...why so angry?
Seriously, why?
...sorry I missed your next post before I posted this...

The other 'workers' weren't innocent and he gave them ample opportunity to clear out.And speaking of Mando murdering people did any else find it a tad disturbing how he just went in and offed the guy in the middle of his workplace resulting in him needing to skewer and dismember half a dozen other hapless workers in the process?
Time is money!Usually when I picture bounty hunting in SW I usually envision the hunters picking off their quarries when they're alone or in more "neutral" places like a city street or pub or what have you.
Well if your boss was a bad person I don't see a huge issue there. But I mean picture in real life you're minding your own business at the office and then a guy just strolls in, walks into your boss's office where he's having a meeting and just starts going to town on everyone, decapitates your boss, then casually walks out carrying his *head*.
He does all kinds of dumb stuff and he's way too emotional for this line of work. Then again, Mando is naive in the show too.
If the pandemic has taught me anything, it's that killer drones and robo dogs are wholly unnecessary to subjugate billions of idiots.I cant wait till we have to fight these guys IRL. I am sure DARPA will give them some of those robot dogs they have for advanced recon, and we can go full-tilt Black Mirror.
Terrifying.

Plus, how’s he replacing them without the armorer. I imagine had he felt a desperate need to he would use them, mainly as a last resort.Whistling Birds are expensive.
