I was pretty sure there was a Good Wife thread. I did a search, found nothing, and I even went past 13 pages and hit ctrl F to see if I could find it. Nothing. But I swear it exists. If a mod finds it, please, please merge it?

I am hoping some of you watch this show. It's been my favorite show on tv since it started airing. Let's not confuse that with favorite show of all time (Buffy).

I have a LOT I want to talk about with the finale just airing last night. SOOOO, tell me you watch it and you wanna discuss.

That is surprising - one of my favorite shows. And I'm in love with Kalinda. I didn't know as I watched it that it was the season finale - they left a lot of balls in the air.

One of my favorite shows too! The writing and acting is top notch. Even guest stars like Michael J. Fox and Chandler Perry elevate their games to the next level. Agree with Dave that Kalinda is a great character. I also like Cary Argos, who seems to have a crush on Kalinda. I remember Matt Czuchry from his days as Rory's boyfriend on the Gilmore Girls.

Yes, it's a fantastic show and well written. I only started watching it in March and like I stated previously, I'm hooked. I need to see the first two seasons though.

Dave, you said the same thing about Aishwarya Rai. You have a weakness for Indian women. :lol

Aishwarya and Archie....

The GF and I are pretty much up-to-date with this show. Haven't seen the finale yet since she's swamped with work lately and I'm catching up with other shows :)

As a law student and having done some legal work in real life, all I have to say is... Lockhart & Gardner are a-m-a-z-i-n-g :lol

Who doesn't like Kalinda? She was my favorite from the moment I started season 1.

I am still trying to figure out if I believe Kalinda slept with Peter. I don't know, I feel like it didn't happen. But then you would say, "why would they not just tell Alicia the truth" and my only response is whatever they were hiding (Kalinda's husband) was much more dangerous to reveal then the truth they didn't sleep together.

Gosh I don't know. SO MUCH to process.

The knock on Kalinda's door at the end was very creepy. I am curious to see what happens there.

I hope Alice went back inside. I have always wanted her and Peter to work things out. They are my favorite couple. Peter is very likable (for me) and I love how humorous he is.

I am nervous for the firm. Wonder if they will really hit rock bottom. They will obviously survive because the show's foundation (besides Alicia's life) is that firm. So I am interested to see if they will have to rebuild.

Lastly, it says a lot about Kalinda's growth that she decided not to run. It was only after Kalinda realized her husband called Alicia, and said her name. I think she's not only protecting herself, but Alicia.

And for those wondering, I do not ship Kalinda/Alicia. Never have.

It never occurred to me that the affair between Peter and Kalinda might be a ruse. I actually thought it was an interesting way to put a rift between the budding friendship of Alicia and Kalinda. The idea of the two lying about the affair might be a little too over the top for me. If it turns out to be a lie, then the mending of the two women's relationship is somewhat cheapened (for me).

I'm wondering if the firm is in such financial trouble next season, that somehow Michael J. Fox's character takes over the company. That would put an interesting twist on the series.

I thought Will and Alicia would eventually get back together, but I too am rooting for Peter. He seems sincere in wanting to make things right and he's always been a good father.

Doesn't make sense.

?

A lot of people think that Kalinda and Alicia should be a couple. I feel exactly opposite.

And I'm sure that they slept together. I'm just trying to find a twist somewhere, hoping that they didn't. I'm going to tell myself they didn't and hope it's true. :lol

Me and the wife just love this show and we are current on all the episodes. Still wonder what Khalinda's husband has done to her to make her run and hide from him, as well as keep him a big secret from everyone. Now she's waiting on him sitting in a chair with a gun in front of the front door. Plus lets not forget Peter running for governor and the drama that's going to unfolded. I can't stand his conniving mother.

You know it's weird, The Good Wife (for me) was just like Awake and other shows that were marketed wrong IMO. When I first saw commercials for The Good Wife I thought it was a drama about a woman dealing with a cheating husband who was a politician. Blah. Same with Awake, a guy who deals with alternate realities where his wife is alive/son is dead and vice-versa. Blah.

But fundamentally, The Good Wife is actually a courtroom drama. And Awake is a crime/police drama. Two genre's I like. Which is why I watch both regularly now. But initially I didn't even bother with either.

But you're wrong. Neither of the shows is a complete procedural like Law & Order or CSI - they do have procedural elements in that specific cases get wrapped up in a single episode - but the ongoing characters and their relationships are what's actually driving the show - which is completely the opposite of typical procedurals. Perhaps your tastes are becoming more sophisticated?

I've never thought Kalinda didn't sleep with Peter - both of them independently were ashamed when confronted and they didn't compare notes. And it's not like Kalinda isn't "flexible" in who she sleeps with.

But her ex has to be pretty scary for her to react like this - she ain't afraid of nobody.

Shhhh, I cannot convince myself if you tell me otherwise. :lol

So good to see other fans of The Good Wife! It is consistently well written and acted, and it has a great mix of drama with genuinely funny character based humor. One of the few shows I look forward to watching every week.

The finale was a great way to end the season. I think they will have a fun challenge casting Kalinda's ex-husband. Nice to see they are filling-in a little bit of her background while still maintaining the mystery.

No, I know they're not completely procedural. Never said or meant that. I was thinking more along the lines of LA Law (another courtroom drama) for The Good Wife and something like The Mentalist (another crime/police drama) for Awake. Shows with ongoing characters and relationships driving them but that aren't 100% soap opera style drama's geared more toward females (like both The Good Wife and Awake were promoted as IMO).

Rest assured, that's not the case.

Oh yeah. I saw a clip of her fighting wit her ex. It's going to be amazeballs. It's my favorite show currently on tv and it hasn't disappointed me in 3 years. I doubt this year will be any different. :rock

I just found the thread. I thought no one else watched. I don't think Alicia ever slept with Kalinda. Alicia seems way too straight, and far too betrayed by Peter's infidelity and Kalinda "sleeping" with Peter. It doesn't make sense for the character. It looks like Alicia's son is interested, though. Like father, like son.

Initially, I was apprehensive about the show, but they hyped it up so much that I would check it out the first episode. I was surprised., I was hooked. The cinematography is like a major motion picture, and the characters and the actors and actresses are all interesting.
I find most lawyer shows boring, but this is smart, dramatic, witty and exciting. Most shows like this seem so dry. I never miss an episode.

Between Kelli Giddish and Jill Flint, Kalinda has good taste in women.
Excellent eye candy. I miss Chase, and I thought it had a lot of potential, but I think it jumped the shark when they had that whistling killer episode.
I also enjoyed Jill Flint on Royal Pains, but alas, she seems to have left that show. I think they dropped the ball on that. They should have gone deeper into her character instead.
The altercation between Kalinda and the man this last episode was really surprising. (avoiding spoilers)

The Good Wife continues to stay Spring fresh and very zesty.
I am glad Carey is out of the DA's office and back with the firm. I never liked him there. He is too interesting to languish there and sometimes be an opponent. I found it irritating.

I am concerned with Eli's character, though. he seems to be losing his focus and doing things somewhat capriciously for the sake of more drama. I really this stops soon. I like his character a lot. He is very amusing.
As Devil said, it was promoted as soap opera initially, but it is isn't.
It is as smart as The Mentalist, but goes much deeper into each character and how they meet new challenges.

I'll respond to more of this later.

I wasn't talking about Alicia and Kalinda sleeping together....I was talking about Kalinda and Peter. I was hoping that they didn't sleep together, but knew deep down that of course they did.
