The Last Samurai (civilian clothes): custom help?

I was looking to do a custom job of this outfit and give him a couple of swords and a Winchester rifle and pistol. Any ideas on who's good for period clothing? And what's that strap across his chest, is it for his sword or pistol?

I'm useing Lonnie's. I know there are others but this one is only $10 and it's still pretty good.

I'll have to watch the film again to take a look at his outfit, it could be difficult making a custom look like its from the 1800s. I guess I could try looking at Cowboy clothing. Thought about his army uniform too, same as the SSC Gen Custer fig but then he'd just look like a regular 1/6 soldier.

It is a clothing dye and here in Canada I can get it just about anywhere for a couple of dollars. I am not sure what they call it in Ireland.

The Giles suit might work. The vest is pretty simple and the pants are nice-could work for the time period. The jacket from the toypresident might work. If I have time I will try to post a pic of it on a figure as the TP figs are taller then normal and the clothes are slightly big.
