I would have no problem with a black Bond - although I think a new character would make more sense. However Sean Combs wouldn't be on my list of top 100 Black actors to take on the role.

Bond is one person. His race cannot change after 40 years.

Actually your argument makes no sense. Bond was originally a Commander in the Royal Navy during WWII. Obviously that would be impossible if he were 40 years hold in 2008. The character changes with the times. Race has nothing to do with being a spy in this day and age and would not fundamentally change the character. Now if they were to make it Jamie Bond and turn him into a girl...

Bond isnt like Dr. Who, or some person that changes, and by that...I mean the person changes, not the character. Bond is one character, in one series of films. The actor might change, but the character is the same.

Personally I think that the 00 Branch of MI-6 is a rich background for characters and wouldn't mind seeing another spy, a B-Level since Bond is obviously the A-Level spy working his or her way around still using M and the International templates. A Black Bond like character would be welcomed there maybe even with a few cameos by ol' Craig himself.
