Just saw The Thing last night after not seeing it for years. That movie is great in my opinion. Kurt Russell was pretty good in that film. The special effects still hold there own despite being over 20 years old!

I'm ashamed to say that I've never even seen this movie. Don't know why. Just never got around to it I guess. I really don't even know what it's about.

one of my most favorite horror movies of all time. Kurt Russell is great!! Great audio commentary on the dvd and one of the best documentaries ever.

This movie f@#kin' rocks and yes Kurt Russell is awesome, as well as the rest of the cast. I love how the organism turns them all against eachother, while they are fighting for survival. Very suspense filled and gory flick, I love it! :rock

The commentary with Carpenter and Russell is fantastic, especially on Big Trouble In Little China. It's like watching the movie with these guys sitting next to you in your living room.

The Thing is one of the best sci-fi/horror films ever made. I can't believe Sci-Fi channel is remaking it. It will suck. Hard.

Check it out if you get a chance, you won't be dissapointed. Although it was made in 1982, I think, it doesn't seem outdated.

Why can't they just leave this movie alone? I think it looks awesome without any CGI that they might add to it. Ughhh.

Imagine a 12" MacReady, complete with the huge sombrero...! If 'The Thing' is not the best horror movie ever made, it most certainly is the second best. Can't think of an other Horror movie that tops this one. I love Carpenters movies: The Fog, Christine, Halloween, Escape from New York, ... Great!

According to an article published in an old Dark Horse Comic Alien 3 adaptation (from '92?), the ox-buster was replaced by dog-buster, which was better for the film, but the change to a dog broke the crew's heart, because a similar thing had been done in 'The Thing'. I always wanted to add this to the 'Bovine-Ox-buster' discussion in the Alien threat, but never got to it for some reason...

Fantastic film. One of my favs, and a rare time when I'd say the remake is much better than the original.

Yep, an awesome move :rock :rock :rock :rock

And any movie from SciFi is terrible... its a rare occasion when I can actually sit though a complete film :yuck

Definitely one of the best horror/sci-fi movies ever. I remember seeing it in the theaters and not believing my eyes! :horror

John Carpenter and Rob Bottin were in their prime back then...along with Russell and the rest of the great cast (Wilford Brimley :rock ).

The DVD is a must buy. The commentary is one of the best, and watching the movie with just the score is great too. If you don't have it, go out and buy it...now.

Only the Morricone score is available. I want Carpenter's eerie electronic score.
Carpenter didn't do any music for The Thing...it was all Morricone. Even the electronic stuff.

How funny I watched this last night at work:lol

It has long been one of my fav movies! I love the isolation and the paranoia in the film, they are both wonderfully done!

The electronic cues are not on the soundtrack, only Morricone's orchestral cues.
