But Didn't he drop the whole "Back stories to walkers" thing?

He wanted to do that and they said No Way, and he was supposed to do the 13 episodes their way and didn't they fire him anyways????

I thought he stopped talking about his idea for the fall of Atlanta and he was just supposed to do the stuff in the farm before they just fired him altogether...

I'm betting AMC's being a class act in all this. Darabont's barfing out drama left and right nowadays, like a bitter, phycho, 16-year-old ex girlfriend who just can't move on. Meanwhile, AMC hasn't uttered much after their "creative differences" press release.

A shame really, given he's a brilliant director and seems like a really nice guy in interviews.

:lol:lol .

There still using his name in the credits, maybe they haven't been paying him for that? If profit sharing was part of his original contract, firing him doesn't make that stipulation go away.

I'm sure it tears him up that the show has gone on to be as successful as it is without him. It probably played out a lot differently in his mind. But people get fired from tv/movies all the time. Writers, actors, directors etc. That's just the nature of the beast and Darabonts been around long enough to know this. His need to stay relevant at this point is kind of sad. He needs to appreciate what he accomplished and move the **** on. There's still loads more Stephen King material he can pull from.

I honestly dont get why walking dead fans hate this guy so much. Its not like AMC has been really horrible from the very beginning or anything.... Everyone loves to forget how no one cared about making this show until he pushed and he pushed. None of the other networks cared. It is not only that he came up with the show, but the faith he had in the project. AMC only sees dollar signs, they couldn't give a hoot about the show itself. He saw a chance at making a great show.

And everyone Always complains about the plans he had for back stories for walkers, But I really doubt he was going to give 13 episodes to backstories of walkers. I really doubt the show would only be all about the walkers lives as humans and completely forget about Rick and the group. He wrote the first six episodes. But everyone loves to hate him for wanting to do some backstories. I really doubt he was going to make season 2 all about the walkers and not have Rick in there at all...

As far as believing him, There is a precedent. He is a great director and he works well with others. People that work with him love him.
AMC keeps hurting the show over and over. They keep doing cuts and messing with it. So yeah, Im going to believe the network that only cares about money, lol.

I'm with you. Maybe Darabont pushed too hard for what he wanted, but I'm willing to bet there is more to the story than what we know, and that AMC is just as guilty of being stubborn. After all, haven't we already gone through two show runners? You gotta think there's something wrong going on.

It's called bad writing. And we're all grateful they're gone as the show's been better off without them. :wave :lol

I wonder how watered down they will make him. I have a hard time imagining the flurry of F bombs his character requires. :lol

I'd imagine, they'll just replace a majority of it with S-bombs and "goddamit," "*******" and "*****" stuff. :lol

Pretty much. It's pretty silly that the goriest and most violent show on basic cable right now has to worry about using the word ****. I doubt many viewers would actually be offended by it.

I don't think you have to censor the word sh!-te on tv anymore. Wasn't that the point of an entire South Park where they counted how many times they could say it in an episode and got upto like 200+ in 20 minutes?

So replace the f-bombs and show how violent he is right off the bat as opposed to watching him slowly lose his humanity like the Governor. Show Negan as completely emotionless unlike the Governor who had a family and daughter issues. Theres no upside or humanity, he's just brutal and rude. It is actually quite differant than the way they tryed to portray the Gov.

Yea there were, censored on tv, allowed on the dvds etc. But it was limited if I'm not mistaken to like 1 every so often.

We'll hear about him the end of S5 maybe.

At the earliest I would think. We got 3 1/2 seasons out of the First Compendium. Negan only starts to get mentioned at the end of the second Compendium, but doesn't appear until a few issues outside of that second compendium. So if they use the same pacing, it would be season 7 when we could see him for the first time. And I think it might take that long. I don't imagine they'll want to out pace their source material if the show remains hot. If it starts to dwindle, they can introduce Negan early and have him take out Daryl for some dramatic boots in ratings :lol

I wonder that too. His cursing is so much apart of his character - much like Deb Morgan on Dexter. But they'll definitely have to change that if they remain on AMC.

I think they said on Talking Bad that they could get on bleeped F-bomb a season, although I'm 99% sure they got away with 2 in the final season. Netflix did unbleep them though. I can't imagine they would want a character who has half of his lines bleeped. It would come off as Jerry Springer and not at all be entertaining or bearable IMO.
