Be a great role for David Morse.

Nah, the fact that they keep letting go of dead weight shows they're in for the long haul. It's funny how you guys think they'll rush him in when you were whining about the many episodes of them looking for Sophia in the woods. So if they do, we know who to blame. :pfft:

oh I dont want them to bring him in soon. at all. I was just thinking that AMC might want to cover their behinds and bring him in sooner than later? :dunno

They might want to stick them in there immediately just so we have another antagonist to really hate. Although, the Governor was loved as much as hated.

I haven't read the comics (though have Omnibus 1 under the tree :yess:) but I doubt it. From what I've spoiled myself on, so far, sounds like there's lots of story inbetween. Agreed with those saying too soon. Would make Negan feel too formulaic, I think.

Well Negan is a Governor clone no doubt about it, although there was a nice grace period between the two. I just don't think they'll wait as long as we'd like.

I think they'll wait a good while. There's a lot of good stuff in the 50 issues between the gov and Negan. People are so damn critical of this show and I think they realize that using him to soon would probably be a put off for most. I'm curious as too how different Negan will be once we finally get to him seeing how much of the governor was different. I don't think they'll take as much time showing how big of a threat he is like they did with the gov. It worked well in the governors case but I hope they don't repeat that formula.

No telling what Gimple or AMC will do for the future of the story. All we know is that Negan will be in it, Kirkman confirmed it.

So do you think they'll keep it Glenn, or change it up as to who gets to be Negan's welcome mat?

Someone said it earlier, but basically, how far we are now is roughly the first 50 issues, Negan comes in at #100 but is mentioned prior. So, season 7/8 or so would be when he's introduced if they keep the same pace.

Negan is either going to bash in Glenn's or Daryl's skull.

Yeah 20 years ago :lol

The governor looked nothing like his comic counterpart. And honestly, was better for it. I don't see this being any different and I really don't want a wrestler plugged into the role. Morse works in the same way the Morrissey worked for Governor. Better, in fact.

Negan comes off to me as a 50 something guy. How old is he to you?

:exactly::goodpost: Morse has the build and the experience to pull off "threatening" without saying a word.

Morse would make a good Negan actually. I read somewhere recently that John Hawkes was originally who they wanted to play the governor. While I really like him and he can play a good villain, I think Morrissey was perfect for the role. Hawkes defiantly looks the part though:

Oh man, definitely.

I can see it, but yeah, glad they went with Morrissey. I don't think the Governor-centric episodes would've worked had they gone with Hawkes.
