Now that more opinions are in, how was Hulk?

Best in every action scene. Only weird moment for me was when he was in conversation mode with Thor. I get he's pretty much a big baby but still. Maybe is because I wasn't used to this in the mcu yet. But yeah overal great. Side note: much was changed from the trailers and I appreciated it more. I was pleasantly surprised.

There's a part of me that was like, awww man...they're ruining this villain...but my brain clicked over and just said "aw **** it, this is funny. Who cares.". Sat back and relaxed. Fun film.

I think the humor during the Surtur opening scene actually made their conflict very unsettling.

Had it been played the all serious WB way it would’ve had less tension.

If it was a "serious business" encounter, it would have been a lot less interesting and you get the feeling of "ok wrap it up". Which is where my brain clicked over. The pacing was great. Like you mention, it does build the scene up nicely. You have Thor being the cocky hero and Surtur losing his patience as a villain does. Nothing wrong with that scene.

“Disney/Marvel has done it again and are looking forward to another huge weekend and on ComScore/Screen Engine’s Post Trak has earned a very rare 5 out of 5 stars from moviegoers.”

I saw this last night. Twice. I absolutely loved it. The comedy worked for me. This is easily the best of the Thor films and I'd place it solidly in the top 1/3 of the 17 MCU films.
If you're worried about it, don't be. Go see the film and allow yourself to enjoy it.

Yeah, I walked out thinking pretty much *anyone* is doing themselves a disservice NOT seeing this. That if there's a film that'll boost tepid box office profits this year it'll be Ragnarok and Star Wars (maybe JL tho not a DC movie fan so far so can't comment - maybe JL will be a big hit:dunno)

I'm pretty appreciative of this film. And underneath all the fun, comedy is one of the hardest things to do well. IMO GOTG2 was straining a lot. Taika and cast make it look easy.

I suspect Marvel was more than happy to have a film like this, with the coming "grimness" of BP and Infinity War. IMO it's one thing Marvel has done right, letting directors put their own stamp on films. I wanna see this again ASAP.

My feelings exactly.

I don’t think i’ve ever seen such an extreme transitional explosion in overall tone from one movie in a series to the next quite like this one.

Marvel said screw it Thor is just not working so they just swung for the fences with this reboot of the character.

Kinda, I guess. Taika has some interview where he talks about looking Thor stuff over, talking with Hemsworth, and then just throwing it all out the window. That's not an exact quote but basically he and Hemsworth wanted to start fresh.

Chris Hemsworth decided it was time to shake things up before stepping back into his superhero costume to play the role of Thor again. So he reached out to Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige to express his desires, then hoped for the best. He talked to ABC News about why he felt the need for change.

"I’ve played the character six times. And I called Kevin Feige and I said we’ve got to do something different here, a new director," Hemsworth said in an appearance on "Popcorn With Peter Travers."

He added, "I’ve loved every director I’ve ever worked with and every experience was a step to this. But it was like, 'Now, we’ve got to reinvent it. We have an obligation to do it.'"

Together they landed on the choice of New Zealand director Taika Waititi, probably best known for the films, “What We Do in the Shadows” and “Boy.”

"I was sick of me as this character, and so was Taika,” Hemsworth said. “And we both got together and said, ‘Let’s just wreck everything and redo it.'"

But - I still think there were some nice transitions and tie-ins. Odin, Dr. Strange, Banner. One thing that bothered me a bit:

The indifferent, don't-blink-or-you-will-miss-it, fate of the Warriors. I mean, it didn't have to be a big deal but it was almost insulting how fast they were dismissed. Tho I thought the "Jane Foster is gone" handling was hysterical.

Man am I looking forward to this. Just watched the review on Farman on Batman. Those guys talked about the movie like my friends would. They loved it. Seems like the most hate is coming from this thread.

And twitter. And instagram. But pretty much only from "DC pro" fans. For some reason DO.NOT.LIKE.HUMOR.OR.JOKES. Lol. I go into a dc movie knowing it will be more serious than humor and i go into an mcu movie knowing its more humor than serious. My heart is for that reason not filled with disappointment, negativity or bitterness[emoji23]

The theater i was in showed a lot of movie goers having a good time and actually clapping. There were no kids either. Adults and young adults. It was great.

Lastly. The final final end scene just wait for it online lol.

But - I can understand at least some of it here. Because LOL I know that I don't know the source material like some other folks here. It's the same kind of thing I read re Homecoming tho it seems worse, actually re the negative comments.

The Winter Soldier is my favorite Marvel character and while I may think it's funny in one comic line that he's flying around space with a stolen pig, I can see why other people may not appreciate that (already was thinking that I'd pay a lot to have Taika Waititi do THAT movie:monkey3)

It was a big risk for Marvel that's paying off. It could have been a disaster.:horror

Box Office: 'Thor: Ragnarok' Opens To $14.5M In North America And $16.3M In China

Thor: Ragnarok got off to a ragnorak-ing start on Thursday night with a $14.5 million preview gross. That’s well and above the $7.1m Thursday preview gross for Thor: The Dark World back in November of 2013 and above the $9.4m Thursday preview haul of Doctor Strange last November. Okay, so it’s understandably lower than the other MCU Thursday debuts this year (Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2’s $17m Thursday haul and Spider-Man: Homecoming’s $15.6m preview gross)...

Good enough for me.

lol perfect

What’s baffling to me is that I never once considered Blanchett to be sexy.

Like what the hell happened when did she all of a sudden become that!?

The brunette thing she had going on worked wonders in my jeans.

Even my wife leaned over and whispered in my ear that she was hot down there for Hela!

Yeah yeah I know my wife is a freak herself lol

the more jye talks about his wife the more i picture this:

:lol :lol :lol

Oh I do plenty of that she is quite the beach lol

But what is so impossible of finding an outgoing wife, men really need to take their time shopping around before committing.

Not every geek is unlucky with women you know, just 97% of them are lol

Look at those sadistic eyes! She looks like she's in heat and ready to pounce on you after you're exhausted from a hard days work and can't move. :lol
