the script requires a superb actor for the part, this is going to be a hard part to pull off, McKidd was great in Rome and he can act circles around Brad Pitt or any wrestler...oh yeah...IMO

Do you see me pulling for a wrestler or Pitt?

Perhaps this is semi O/T, but I was watching a film the other day called The Hole (2001), and one of the lead actors is named Desmond Harrington... During every one of his scenes all I could think was that he'd be PERFECT to play a superhero. He's got piercing eyes and a really striking, other-worldly look to him. Honestly I think he would have been a great Superman (better than Routh), but since that role's already taken I could see him being a very good Captain America if he beefed up a bit. I think THOR needs a more rugged, burly dude.... But I'd LOVE to see Harrington play Cap.

It's surprisingly hard to find a good representative pic of him online (you kinda have to see him in action to appreciate him I suppose), but here's one shot--

Vladimir Kulich probably won't get it but I think he would be perfect for the role. I think also that Sean Bean could pull it off.

I always thought Kulich was PERFECT after seeing 13th Warrior but he's too old. The guy is in his 50's now.

He looks good. But whoever plays Thor MUST be a great actor. Of course that goes without saying in any project but the Thor script is a page torn from Shakespeare. The part needs someone with a dramatic background in the london theater arts or royal Shakespeare company imo.

McKidd might be a good choice, but I always see Thor as being a 20-something. McKidd as Loki might be interesting though - he played a great villian in Last Legion.

I think Mckidd is a good choice. He has the face but, I'm not sure of his size.

so right you are darklord dave

Kevin McKidd on the Thor Rumors
Source: ComingSoon.net
September 7, 2007

ComingSoon.net got a chance to talk to Kevin McKidd, star of NBC's new time travel show "Journeyman," who was asked about the rumors that he is up for the title role in Marvel Studios' Thor movie. Here's what he said:

It is semi true. I didn't know about it either until I heard the rumors. I called my agent and the last I heard was I think they want to go with somebody much younger, a nineteen or twenty year old for that role. Although they may be switching their sights, the other main male character in that movie I think I am in consideration for. It certainly is by no means in the bag. To be honest until I read a script I don't really know so this is all still information coming out. It could be fun, but it depends on what is on the page. It all starts and finishes with the script.
