Bandai is doing up the Thundercats show with plenty of different figures, but they haven't forgotten the fans of the classic show either - they've released a couple 8" 'collector' figures based on the old show. I'm looking at their classic Lion-O tonight, and it's great...with one glaring exception. You can find the review at the usual:

Great review, as always!

I was disappointed in the size as well, but seeing your pic at the end with He-Man and Red Skull, he doesn't look too bad... I mean, who's to say Thundercats aren't taller than the Masters, anyway? They actually look better together than I thought.

Might pick this up after all...

Yep, scale is sort of a taste thing with different lines like these. No reason human/cat hybrids can't be taller than humans...

Bummer about the ankle joints... Bandai did the same thing with their Kinnikuman figures. Highly poseable figures, but shiny plastic and odd colored joints.

I think it's a small nitpick and the gloss isn't as bad as Mike makes it out to be. It's a solid figure. You can also pick this figure up for $17 at Wal-Mart. :dunno

I don't think these things have hit Canada... who knows if they ever will?

Maybe on my next trip to the States...

I'm sure they'll hit. Don't buy them at TRUs, hit up WM. And watch out for paint apps. Especially Tygra.
