My dad took sick today and is in the hospital.
They think he had a blood clot which caused him
to have a heart attack.

I am at my wits end. My brother is with him right now.
My husband has gone down to check on things. My
sister is with my mom and I wait by the phone for updates.

That's bad news, red! Sorry to hear that. My thoughts and prayers are with you. I hope he pulls through right away! My grandfather had a quintuple bypass recently and I know how stressful all of this can be. Keep us posted on his condition--I look forward to some good news!

That is crappy. It never fails, "When it rains, it pours." Best wishes for your family. Don't let the stress build up!

My hopes and prayers go out to you and your family. Both my grandmothers just suffered strokes only months apart. Their both doing better and I pray your dad will be as well. Just remember we here for you and god bless.

Thank you for the support , it is appreciated.
Dad is stable but they are still running tests.
I will post news later hopefully good news

Very sorry to hear that...I hope the best for your father...best wishes and prayers for our family:peace

Best wishes Dr - I'm really sorry to hear about your dad. I'll do a St. Patty's day toast for him :duff

Stay strong for your family and hope he gets well soon.

I will burn some candles for your dad tonight... hope all is ok... we are here for you if you need us. :peace

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family, and I hope your father has a speedy recovery.

Yes, a toast tonight for Red and her family with hopes that everything turns out alright for them all.

Thanks everyone.
I was able to spend some time with Dad tonight
and seeing him looking better and joking was good.
They are keeping him in the hospital for a few days.
He will be sent to another hospital for tests once
they can fit him in. I really appreciate the support
and friendship from all of you.
You are helping me keep it together.

Freaks are the best.

Sorry to hear about that. I will keep him in my prayers tonight. I buried my grandmother yesterday so it hits home with me. God bless.

really sorry to hear about that, glad he's better though! You and him, are in my thoughts. Just reading these posts just now, we have such a great community here, caring and wonderful people. One of the best places on the net. You all rock.

:peace

Dr.
any updates? I hope all is going well with you and yours, and we are sending some positive feak vibes your way!:peace

Good news. He had an angioplasty on Monday and was sent home Tuesday.
He had a blockage in the heart but they were able to clear it.
I stayed for a few days to make sure he rested and did not try to do anything
stressful. He has a vast assortment of pills and puffers to use. We bought
a bunch of low fat and low sodium food for him to eat.
Thank goodness for the Ontario medical system. We did not have to pay a
dime and just minimum fees for the pills because my Dad has a plan that
covers most of the cost.
My mom has been such a trooper. She is legally blind but still tries to
do so much at home. I tried to help but I really felt like I was getting in
the way.
Now we just have to keep an eye on Dad and get Mom to quit smoking
100 %. After smoking over 60 years it is very hard for her to quit.

Thanks for all of the good thoughts.
Really helped me and my family.
