When I first heard about this remake my reaction was "____ Hollywood in the ass with a giant black dildo!". But after seeing the cast now I'm open to at least watching it.

I am pretty sure I read somewhere it isn't a remake of the Arnold version. Not sure how close it is to the book though.

Michael Fassbender was considered for the role but for whatever reason it went to Farrell.

Bryan Cranston has said that Farrell has been quite impressive during filming and they definitely got an upgrade on him as an actor compared to Arnold (he said he was dissing Arnold's acting, but praising Colin's acting).

I always liked the original and I hope the remake is good, I do look forward to seeing it.
