Yeah I'm sure it is awful like pretty much the entirety of the series.

From the commercials, it looks like Optimus is the bad guy who kills Bumblebee or something.

Well, it was pretty much the same story, with the same type of jokes, but with at least 5 times as many explosions.
Oh, and 5 times as many robots.
The editing was the worst part. It felt like channel surfing from scene to scene with nothing flowing into the next event.

Lets see if I can summerize it with some small spoilers:

Starts off with a historic event. Main protagonist finds old transformers relic that leads to another all powerful relic that will end the world.
Megatron, Barricade and other Decepticons are back.
Optimus changes sides because... reasons.
Random action and racist jokes.
A few contradictory scenes.
Some cameos from the previous movies that could/should have not been in this movie.
Awesome CGI.
Sexist scenes and hints of Robo-porn.
BEE & Prime fight for 20 seconds.
Obligatory final action scene.
Prime gives his speech.
Audience sighs.

Its a shame the franchise ends this way. The first movie with Optimus Prime coming to life on the big screen with Peter Cullen's voice in it was iconic. Brings so much 80's nostalgia to it. They should have stopped with DOTM. With Megatron and Sentinel dead.

Michael Bay will be Michael Bay, but whoever is writing these movies should go the way of "Old Yellar".... brought into the woods and put out of their misery.
