After an early listing popped up on Amazon UK, as reported by Polygon, Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark was revealed today during Hasbro's presentation at the NYC Toy Fair. IGN has posted the above trailer, which was reportedly shown during the presentation. The ending title screen notes that Dark Spark will reach PS3, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox 360, Wii U, 3DS and PC.

Update: According to a report from Examiner, Dark Spark will be handled by Loadout developer Edge of Reality rather than High Moon Studios, which worked on Transformers: War for Cybertron, Transformers: Dark of the Moon and Transformers: Fall of Cybertron. The report also states that Ducktales: Remastered developer WayForward will handle a "strategy RPG" version of Dark Spark for the 3DS.

Examiner's report notes that Dark Spark will merge the Transformers Cybertron and Michael Bay Transformers universes. It also states that the single-player campaign will let players side with the Autobots or Decepticons, while the multiplayer Extinction mode will feature combat built around hordes. Experience earned in either mode is said to transfer over to the other, allowing a player's progression to follow them throughout the game.

I kinda hoped it would be a direct sequal to "Fall of cybertron".Not sure what they mean by merging the cybertron and Bayformers universes, just 1 campaign and 2 skins for each transformer?

sounds interesting ...

i have a 50/50 feelings about this.. it'll either flop like the movie transformers games, or a success like the War/fall of cybertron

I've always liked BW more than any other TF universe.

Dinobot is still the best TF ever.

This news sucks. I really enjoyed War/Fall of Cybertron while on the other hand I loathed the Bay Transformers movies enough so I wont buy/play this game on principal alone. Why did they have to merge the universes?!?! If you want to make a Transformers movie game fine but don't drag down a previously successful franchise with it.

This is what happens when you over saturate the market, remember the Australian team that made the Transformers Armada game for PS2? Now that's real effort.

I'm tired of Transformers, looks like they'll forever overshadow Beast Wars and stomp any chance of a revival. :(

It wasn't an issue with oversaturation, they just didn't put much effort into the game, poor visuals plus lots of content copied and pasted from previous games (literally) and any new stuff was poorly done.
