Yeah, and I'm getting a young Chow Yun Fat coming through in that sculpt.

He definitely has the Chow Yun Fat squint going on. I really like it.

Definitely a very, very young Fat. Not bad - if he comes with sunglasses he's a keeper.

looks like triad toys made this figure but went under a different identity to avoid suit

Below is the reply from Louie Tran (customdawg) of Triad Toys regarding the figure. He posted in the following thread at the Triad Toys forum.

It's definitely not our work. I do wonder if they use some of the factories we use perhaps. Pictures aren't very clear to see about the shoes/boots, but it does look like the dress boots we sell. As for the paintwork and head, it's apparent this style is getting more popular as we've seen with several different companies producing the more translucent effect. But I can say for certain it's not our work or product.

Hopefully, this will address and clear up any rumors and speculation.

well if he says it isn't it must not be it.....

BUT
-Sculpt looks have a lot of similarities to Triad's sculpt work (Mouth eyes)
-Photo taking style is the same even the backdrop
-Disagree on the painting style Triad had always been the only ones that utilize that type of paint look... even Louie's own custom figures on ebay look like that.

but hey thats just my take. who am I to make such a big assumption.... LOLZ

I know some of the good peeps over at Triad (well, by chats on email), but the spec on this came from a totally different source. As far as I know they are two completely different entities, in fact over on the Triad forum Customdawg reiterated that they had no involvement with this figure.

From Customdawg-

So for the last time, this is not our product, sculpt, work or licensing-avoiding/bootleg production arm run from inside prison while evading taxes and running guns for the mob or whatever else new rumors people are trying to tie me to.

This Mob Killer is just a decent sculpt on an old Triad
outfit and newer triad boots.

Who are VB Toys? Anyone know?

Just got an email from them.
Don't know why that is, I've never delt with them.
But's here's the pictures they just sent me with
prices of these sets. Looks like the sculpts are original
and they look okay. But the outfits, again, just look bashed
together from other parts of other figures including Sideshow
boots.

It was the one Louie had made years ago for his
Constantine figure he put out as Dawg. So VB
may have snatched patterns at the factory level
as I think Louie said in a Triad Post. I think Louie
always does a small factory run of his custom outfits.
That way, he doesn't have to remake the same outfit
over and over. So I guess I should have said, old Louie
outfit...:lol
