That will cost you.
More and more movies are being presented in the RealD format, which shows that there is a ever expanding group of people who like to view movies in this fashion.

Personally, I find myself in that aforementioned group. I find that I am excited to see movies again, and I prefer to see them in 3D now. The picture quality seems more enhanced. Colours seem more vibrant. Images are crisper, and they really pop out, giving a further depth of feel through this new technology. Giving a feel that you're almost right there. I find that even a movie with a weaker story line like My Bloody Valentine can still be a fun experience when presented effectively in this format.

My question to you guys, should this become more of a regular thing or should this be only reserved for the odd movie... Taken more as a treat vs. as a new way to experience films on a regular movie going basis?

Some reason I find the SilverCitys here produce a much better picture and effective 3D experience vs. the IMAX theatres. Has anyone else noticed this or is it just me? SilverCity maybe just a Canadian thing and thus they could be using different software/technology from other competing theatres.

Having only seen one film in imax 3d (which was Beowulf) I did find it a really enjoyable experience. It's unfortunately left me feeling that it's missing something whenever I watch it at home now.

I think it's one of those things we'd just get used to in the end and the novelty of it would soon wear off.

Definetly thing it would be better kept for the odd movie, after all does anyone want to see a romantic comedy in 3d ?

I don't care about format much, as long as quality of film isn't sacrificed for the 3D gimmick.

i think it depends...if the movie was made specifically to have 3-D then yes i prefer to watch in in that, but if they just added the 3-D to make more money out of it then no, i could care less.

Don't care for the 3D experience very much. I think the old way is best. It's like loading a movie with too many special fx. It's just over kill.

I would say 3D, but I hate wearing the stupid, retarded, non-fitting glasses. I have to do a trial-and-effect method to putting them on so that I don't get agitated while wearing them

I can't stand 3D movies anymore. I saw Superman Returns in 3D at the Imax and I hated the picture quality and found the 3D effects to be anoying.

When they are designed for 3D and animated I think it works best. Beowulf really benefited from the 3D effects. As did My Bloody Valentine - but live action tends to look murky unless you're seeing it in IMAX or something. Most recently I saw Bolt and Coraline in 3D, but barely remember any difference.

Most 3D movies don't have anything in them that makes the 3D pop! I think this is just a gimmick to get extra money since most cost $2-3 dollars more for the glasses which they ask you to recycle back. Of course you can't use them for the next Real 3D movie. :(

I saw my 1st 3d short film last year, it was really suprising how good it was, but in general the traditional way for me, as said if it's designed for 3D fine otherwise I don't need gimmicks

Rather than start a new thread I thought this one was relivent to post on.
When I was watching UP in 3D the other day I thought the movie was amazing but some of the 3D looked a little blurry. Is this common in this type of movie? The A Christmas Carole trailer looked great in 3D too but I still got some blur on it.

I took the fam to see cloudy with a chance of meatballs in 3d. It was our first time and I can't say it knocked my socks off, but was bad in any way shape or form. I think a lot depends on the film itself.

I will say 3d has come a long way. The coolest part of the film was about 4 seconds long during a rain scene. It looked beyond cool. I will definitely see more flicks in 3d but overall im perfectly happy with the traditional way.
