I'm looking to get a new shelving piece to hold my HT preds and I'm trying to decide between these 2.

The VITTSJÖ looks pretty nice and gets a lot more space for only a bit more money: https://www.ikea.com/ca/en/catalog/products/20213312/. I don't really care about having glass doors but this gives a really nice and wide display area so I can have more preds bunched up in one scene plus it has glass shelve panels which is really nice. Does anyone have a VITTSJÖ? What do you think? Also I'm not very concerned about dust since I regularly pose.

You are going to want some kind of doors, to stop dust or a figure falling. Even the detour doesn't stop all the dust

I have had the Detolf, a Billy, have a Besta and have a Vittsjo. Honestly I like the Vittsjo the best overall and it's the cheapest. I bought 3 different items now from that collection.
The towers are great and lighting can be added and wires hidden easily which is what Im doin next.
About protection
Not worrying about it as I take good care of my items. The open air look is way better to me.
I have a make up brush for dust and the figures are not in direct sun.
May even sell my Besta unit to fund 2 more towers.
Also you can mount the towers to the wall to get better use of space and the bottom shelf by mounting it higher.

I totally agree with you, that's exactly what I was thinking myself as I also take very good care of my figures. I think I'm going to pick up a vittsjo then.

Oh man that'd be sick, show me how you have it set up with a few pics. I'm going to pick one up maybe next week since I'm currently painting my house and swapping for a bigger room so I have more space for my figures :yess:

Do it!!!!:hi5:
I will get a pic up of mine tonight

Quick pic of the top shelf
Still need lights and attaching to the wall.

I think if you will ONLY display HT figures on them they will look nice, but if you might add a few statues here and there I don't think those skinny legs will be able to hold the weight and also you have a limited options on how to instal the lighting.

Personally, I would stick with the BESTAS, sturdy and very customizable.

I got a wall Besta and as much as I like them I am looking at less bulky displays with open air look.
I don't do statues so no weight limit concerns plus you can replace the glass with wood for the shelf.
Have the lighting figured out too so should look nice and clean.
The Besta is a fine display though with lots of options if you are going for that.

Is this a besta? https://www.ikea.com/ca/en/catalog/products/S59887672/

I don't really like how its so wide and short plus its way to out of my price range for a shelf. @joda76 The vittsjo looks amazing! I really like the open feeling. I was thinking to get the double one https://www.ikea.com/ca/en/catalog/products/20213312/ which is nearly the same price as a detolf in my store and gives a lot of width for a nice scene setup. Can you post some more pics of the whole thing? I'm not into statues at all so I'm not worried about it breaking :p

Oh also, what is the length of the inner edge of the glass shelf (not width) if you wouldn't mind measuring quick?
