Measuring the circumference would be easy, but the diameter is a bit more tricky.

Do I shove a yardstick through my middle or how do you want me to do this? Since this is scientific and all, I want to make sure I get it right.

And I don't want an owie.

First you measure the circumference and then you have pie and thats the diameter.

I kept doing this and the circumference kept getting bigger, so I never had an accurate measurement.

Actually, you determine circumference by C = 2*pi*r. Your abdomen isn't a perfect circle, though... . Just use a measuring tape.
