I haven't logged into my 360 in a few days, but I just read about this earlier today:

Xbox Live users are under attack on two levels: hackers are targeting them at an alarming rate and using their MS points on FIFA '11 and '12 in-game gear; and Microsoft is then shutting down their accounts to investigate for up to 25 days.

A strange, and seeming profitless pattern has cropped up among Xbox Live users. Their accounts are compromised, and the hackers install or buy Fifa '11 or '12, and then they drain the remaining MS point balance into in-game items. Microsoft has been slow to respond, and several users who've had this happen to them have reported being locked out of their accounts for massive amounts of time (21 business days!) and generally being frozen out of the investigation process.

Well it was only a matter of itme before the hackers moved over XBL. Better check my stuff as it's been a bit since I've been on.

I wonder if the hacker are going after accounts where the PSN username and password are the same.

I agree this is a troll type hacker, they get nothing out of this action.

Oh no!! not the almighty Xbox who was once reveled as being impenetrable!

The first sign that these hackers are no immediate threat is the fact they like soccer, thread closed.

if this was happening on PSN, we'd hear about it in 3 months... when sony started taking it seriously.

Funny that you said this because I just checked my work email today, and the Homeland Security News Wire reports that Sony got hit again by hackers and 93 thousand accounts were compromised.

They weren't hit by hackers, basically someone had gotten information on a lot of people, and they wanted to try out the information to see if any of it matched up to PSN accounts, and a bunch of them did. It'd be like if this forum were hacked and a bunch of user login information was stolen, and then they tried it on PSN to see if any of the users used the same information there.

Yep and probably the same thing is happening on Xbox right now on a smaller scale. There are password lists on all of the torrent sites so any 5 year old with a computer can get them.
