Here it is, mid February, and I FINALLY have my January Matty subscriptions. Another fine job by Digital River...the new Watchmen Rorschach is a solid outing for the first release in the series, and I'm looking forward to completing the big six. You can find my review at the usual:

Nice review Michael, I had to resist closing out in your opening paragraph when you said the movie was better then the comic tho'. :nana:

Although I love the movie, this comic as well as V for Vendetta shaped alot of my taste for comic stories. I would guess most people that preferred the movie just read the comic because it was made into a movie. :dunno
Don't get me wrong, the change to Manhattan being a threat vs the aliens was a great cinematic change, I just think pound for pound the comic's value in comicbook history far outweighs the movies value to cinema.

*insert biting remark about Hot Toys figure release order vs Mattels*

I too also prefer the movie myself.

Actually, it looks like the one in the comic was much more in scale.

Never read the book but loved the movie, especially the uncut version. Visuals are some of the strongest of any comic movie. Its beautiful from start to finish.

The movie is very good IMO, but took very few liberties from the book. Essentially, Snyder was trying his damndest to make the book come to life. So if you like the movie, chances are you just like the book in live action form better than on the page, unless you really like all the new stuff like Comedian punching through a wall, taking out the alien invasion angle, changing how Rorschach dealt with the child murderer, etc. I read the book well over a decade before the movie came out, and came to love it as a book first, so the book holds sway in my mind but I am far from objective.
