Great news! Just received shipping info from UPS that my Weta Numenorean shields will be delivered on the 14th! Says these are shipping from Dark Horse Comics on behalf of Weta. Anyone know where Dark Horse is located? That was fast considering Weta e-mailed me Wed saying my credit card was declined for the transaction :banghead but luckily I just had to unblock and confirm the overseas payment. Thanks to Darren at Weta Workshop for your help. Anyways I hope to display these next to my Numenorean & Gondorian 1/4 scale helms.

I also got a UPS notice that Dark Horse was shipping something from WETA but it doesn't say on the notice what is being shipped. I assume its the Numenorean Shield. Really looking forward to the new WETA shields and environments.

It wouldn't surprise me if Dark Horse had a distro centre on both the East and West coast. I hear they do sell a few comics.

Unless of course its Diamond on one side and Dark Horse on the other.

I thought it was my Middle Earth/New Zealand map but it looks like mine is coming on Friday then! Woot!

Hi Everyone,

Darkhorse stuff ships out of Oregon. That's where their main office is located. At least that's what we see on our shipping labels and invoices when we receive products from them.

Thanks,
Mike

Ah yeah that's right :duh Portland I think (well it's close to Washington ); mine is out for delivery today.

LOL, since we are in NY, it's all West Coast to us. We ordered some as well to sell. I wanted to wait until they came in stock and then we would put them up for sale.

If my rep ever gets back to us. Weta has pretty poor communication at this point. I'm still waiting to see if we will be selling Bag End. I emailed them when it got released to see if it was being offered to dealers and have not heard back from them.

Thanks,
Mike

These are pretty small and probably only for the LOTR devotee, but the detail is great and I like it.

Now bring on Gil-galad's! :rock

got mine yesterday ... can't say it's worthwhile honestly $40 + $15 ship + $34 UPS brokerage fees (to canada) ... $90 all in ... jesus i just did the math on this ... not worth it. gonna cancel my other 2 shields. i have all the helms too so this is a tough one to swallow ... the brokerage fee is a killer unfortunately.

Just got mine today, #'s 513 & 515. Everything was perfect:banana and the detail on these is Amazing:chew They are kinda small but will still look great next to my 1/4 scale helms.:aragorn Unfortunately Weta had charged me twice, but have since refunded the mistake within 30 minutes. Thanks again to Darren. :bow

Do Weta really think we're going to be wearing these things on our clothes??

Some ppl may, you never know and if they do, then it's nice to have the option.

If not, you leave it on the little base, can't see the back of it and never have to worry about it either way.

In what scale are they, anyway? I'm hoping they're 1:4 so that they fit in nicely with my helm display, but I might cancel my orders if they're 1:6 or smaller.

The fact these can either be displayed or worn as lapel pins should give you some idea as to the size. I'd say best case scenario you're looking at 1/12th scale

They aren't 1/4 scale and holding mine up next to a SSW statue I would venture that they are closer to 1/7 scale. :huh

They have a lapel pin on the back but are held on the base by a magnet, I would assume it had something to do with licensing; I don't see myself wearing it to too many dinner parties. :lol

Any of the people who have it in hand show any scoff marks? Mine's not bad, but it would've been nice if Weta made em such that they dont scoff that easily. Like some primer on it.
