Re: WGP's Classic Star Trek (Yeoman Rand finished)

Agreed. And they also did a 12" Mugato. These were part of their "Aliens & Adversaries" line that are still readily available at Amazon & on eBay.

I'd be more interested in a Balok (both versions) or a Ruk. But a Nona is a must!

Re: WGP's Classic Star Trek (Yeoman Rand finished)

The Playmates Gorn was pretty sweet. Particularly because he is mostly naked, I don't think you're gonna get better than that.

True, I thought it looked cool, but the outfit didn't look accurate (though I've been considering using the head on my custom and I was curious to know if WGP would be making a head in the near future). Also, the height should have been about an inch taller, because I remember seeing the figure next to an Andorian and they were the same height.

Re: WGP's Classic Star Trek (Yeoman Rand finished)

ALL the Playmates were too big. However, the Gorn looks great next to Trek sculpts on Dragon, BBi, etc... bodies.

Re: WGP's Classic Star Trek (Yeoman Rand finished)

Playmates Gorn works fine for me, but I always thought a certain salty alien always got the shaft. Playmates had announced plans for this alien in 1/6 scale, but cancelled the entire Trek line before it could happen; likewise Diamond Select had shown proto pics of the figure in 6" scale, which was later scrapped, shortly prior to the end of their Trek line. Please, WGP, make it happen, this pretzel and potato chip munchin' monster needs some love!

Re: WGP's Classic Star Trek (Yeoman Rand finished)

While "salty" may be overlooked. Its body would be more difficult to make than other aliens.
How about Trelane?
Bele?
Gary Mitchell? [not a true alien, but taken over by one]
Harry Mudd?

Re: WGP's Classic Star Trek (Yeoman Rand finished)

Have you thought about Tribbles? they'd be simple, but would liven up any Trek display.

Re: WGP's Classic Star Trek (Yeoman Rand finished)

I heard tribbles were a lot of trouble. :monkey3

Wouldn't tribbles be a great accessory for Worf though? It reminds me of the joke about the bear meeting the bunny in the woods (laugh).

Tribbles are not a bad idea, actually, but they would require sewing and right now our limited tailor/seamstress slots are too valuable because we need them for all the various shows costumes we have planned. Maybe someday. :)

Re: WGP's Classic Star Trek (Yeoman Rand finished)

well you wouldn't have to buy them Ironman :)

I wouldn't want actual fabric ones, I'd want cast resin I could paint in different colors. Right now I have Kirk in his chair with Bones and SPock behind him, and a couple tribbles on the ground would add a nice detail to the display.

True, but, no disrespect to WGP, what a true waste of talent it would be to make these. tribbles, as annoying as they are, are perhaps the most easily made customs.

Re: WGP's Classic Star Trek (Yeoman Rand finished)

Well, gotta love the internet, where no idea is so small that someone isn't willing to take the time to piss on it.

Re: WGP's Classic Star Trek (Yeoman Rand finished)

Not pissing, commenting.
Didn't realize the forum was only open to positive ideas.
With all the great work that WGP, and so many others, are turning out it just seems a step back to focus on something so simply selfmade.

We would be more likely to want to do fur than sculpt for Tribbles because real fur would be so easy to pull off, and it would look better than fur sculpted. Tribbles are still a good idea though!

Re: WGP's Classic Star Trek (Yeoman Rand finished)

Just Google "fur pom pom balls" and you'll find plenty of ideas for Tribbles.

Speaking of pom poms, let's talk about that Nona figure I mentioned earlier...
