One of the most over-played bands in the history of radio, but the talent of Tom Scholz is undeniable. Wrote almost all of their songs, developed their sound, was an MIT-trained engineer who developed his own equipment and recorded and produced the first Boston album in his basement. Many bands I love formed as a direct response to how much they hated this kind of music, but as I get older, I am learning to appreciate bands like this, ELO, and the Doobie Brothers more than I did as a youngster.
