I'm talking about the design and look from the first film and nothing too large i.e. 1:1 scale. I want the best representation of the Giger classic. What do you think?

It's a tie between the NECA and the Medicom figures.
NECA has better detail and I love the overall proportions. Medicom is a near perfect representation of the man in a suit.
Price wise, the Medicom is about 5X times expensive...
Neither is 1/6 scale.

If this is strictly for "figures" and not for anything else, then my vote goes to the 18" NECA...with the Medicom a close second.

I have the Neca. I just think the swirly paint job on the skull looks funky.

How about the RAH? Has this been released yet?

Are there better kits out there as opposed to figures?

And I do think the old Kenner one is cool and has a lot of charm to it. I may look into getting that one day.

I'd say the 18" NECA, and after Les's paintjob (which I should be receiving in the next couple of months), it will be the best alien collectible EVER.

Damn!

I can't wait to see that! :google

My thoughts exactly!
That thing repainted by Les will surely be a marvel!

Yes, it's been released. You can search this forum, there's a review by me and lots of pics from others as well.
It's a wonderful figure.

There's the two famous Marmit statues (A&B), but they've been out for ages. I doubt they're easily attainable.
And there's a fantastic kit Marmit put out about a year ago, there's also pics of it floating around here.
Fianlly there's a kit by SEGA that also came out a few years ago, very nice as well.

But in terms of accuracy and sheer awesomeness, that's about it.

yep. 18" NECA hands down.

the kenner figure was awesome for when it came out. but it's lame compared to everything out now.

Thanks for the answers. I'll look for pics of the kits you mentioned.

Wow those are great! I was surfing and noticed the Marmit 1 goes for $600+ now but retailed late last year for $200. Is that right?? Do you know how many they made of those?

Those look cool and if I had a choice I don't know which one I would get. They are all pretty similar. I kind of like that one leaning over; that's a unusual pose. Does it replicate a specific Giger drawing? Doesn't he pick up his head like that for one of his kills?

And I always pictured him as more "bio-mechanical black" with less color. I gotta watch the extras on my Alien dvd again!

Supposed to only be 200 of each of these Marmits. I'm extremely happy to have just picked up the B pose from a UK seller. The statue is on its way to me now, and I cannot wait. This particular one is supposed to be one of only three artist's proofs. The same seller still has the A pose artist's proof, but I could not afford both.

:D
