your boxes, Im going to have some severe issues with this in the next year as when I come to display my things what the hell do I do with my boxes, I do see a lot of my stuff being for investment in the future so I dont really want to get rid of them but will it make much difference to the resale value? If I flat pack them the will take up less spave but that means the inners will have to go. Any thoughts on this?

I keep all my boxes. Fortunately space is not an issue when it comes to those for me.

I definitely think it helps the resale of an item if you have the original packaging for it, plus it's just added protection for shipping if you sell it. I also rotate my collection since I don't have enough room to display it all, so the boxes act as storage.

Boxes, to keep or trash, an age old dilemma.:D

Mine are safely stored away in my attic. If you ever get a house, get one with it. Helps that issue.

Unfortunately looks like Im going to have to extended into my loft, so thats the dilema I have.

I eat the boxes. A statue or toy comes with every meal. :)

I agree. The boxes are a great source of protein and vitamins. I usually eat mine with some salt, pepper, and a little ketchup for some flavor.

If you can't find enough room in your house than put them in storage. When you want to re-sell your statues, they're worth much more with their original boxes. I am fortunate enough to have found a small room inside my basement that's dedicated entirely for my empty boxes.:D

Are these statue boxes or action figures? If statues or busts etc, they are essential; you would have an incredibly hard time ever moving without them.

Get a storage unit for $40/mo and let them pile up! :family :family :family

Damn a storage unit around you costs that much. The cheapest by me is like $100/mo :monkey2 :monkey2

I would find a way to save them. I keep mine in my attic. As mentioned before if you ever move or want to sell them in the future it will be worth more in boxes. I'll give you an example. I used to collect Dragon WWII figures. I didn't know what to do with all my empty boxes. I decided one day to put my empty boxes on EBAY. They didn't sell, lucky for me, I kept them. When I finally decided to part with my Dragon stuff , I had all the boxes and was able to get a few extra bucks for them.

My wife has had a storage unit the size of a 2 car garage for the last 15 years.. its 100 a month and my boxes go in there..

Yea, stupid public storages fees. I would rather have no room in my room and save $100 a month then buy a storage units. But that's just me being a cheap @$$.

i store some in the attic, some in the garage, some in the crawl space, some at my rental house, and some i use as risers for my collection. i wont throw them out because i know they will come in handy when i move.

I'm the same, so I am considering, or might have to, put half of my display back in their boxes. Short term solution, next to stopping collecting altogether.
