Convention season is underway and I was just curious to see what everyone else was into--and how many of us still buy the tradition action figure and how many have switched primarily to collecting the bigger and more expensive things.

I collect Marvel Legends (trying to stop :D), Transformers, some NECA, Mezco and a few odds & ends. I no longer buy Star Wars 'toys', I only buy the 1:6 and 1:4 SSC stuff.

I collect Marvel Legends and Highlighters--I get them at work for free ( the highlighters, not the legends) Though, I do work at a TRU, so...man the crap that I find under basedeck shelving.

Outside of my LOTR and SW SS/GG buying I usually pick up a Hasbro SW Galactic Heroes once in a while. I display those in my classroom for my students as they get a real kick out of them.

Highschool?

I collect most action figures as long as they have quality sculpts. im a big fan of dc direct and dc superheroes. as well as marvel legends. i pick and choos in these lines cause i dont like how cheap some look. but man do i love me some action figure

It was gradual but I only collect the higher end stuff now. I am really more selective now as well since this stuff is so expensive. I still have plenty of action figures though from my past that I don't know what to do with. Mainly boxed Legends that I am too lazy to ship...it would take forever.

Nope 5th and 6th graders.

AHH, just curious. You ever try mixing the Galactic Heroes style X-Men with the SW? I think that there would be some good discussions from 5th and 6th graders about who'd kick who's butt.

You could moderate of course:D

just send me the boxed legends ..it wont be too much trouble. as your packing them up just think of how good it feels to donate to charity.

It was the same for me--gradual. I jumped on the Sideshow train kinda late in the game and I really didn't start ferociously buying 1/6 until 2004. But now that's almost all I buy anymore. Part of that is my taste, but part of that is also the market. Like, I really don't ever see the need for another Darth Vader. The original, a POTF removable helmet, and a Medicom ROTJ are plenty of Vaders for me--no matter what Hasbro or even Sideshow may put out.

BTW, I'm in need of a handful of Legends--if you wanna get rid of a few, lemme know!

I fall into the "The other stuff is for kids" group. I am not trying to be insulting about it, but that's how the poll itself was worded LOL. Right now I stick to some 1/6, but mostly PF's and statues or busts.

I do have some Transformers from the 80's, but I have had them forever.

Pittsburgh penguins hockey related items. Mostly Mario Lemieux, but penguins stuff in general. I also like antiques in general. For the most part real primitive stuff from pre 1900. Im also into native american, some civil war (guns), victorian furniture. My tastes vary what can i say :lol

I've thought about getting a few of the Marvel ones just for grins to add in. Haven't yet but I just might.

I collect books. My collectibles and my books are always warring for space, right now the books are winning, but the collectibles recently gained some ground. My bedroom looks like a friggin' library with the collectibles stuck here and there.
