What happened to 1/6 Gandalf

Couple months back we were all hyped because we thought we saw an unintentional shot of a 1/6 Gandalf. I know I was excited. Here we are months later and not a peep. I try not to be doom and gloom and i've vented about this before, but it's just getting frustrating. The Aragorn PF is a thing of beauty, but I just can't afford that line. I really wish we would hers something soon.

They're not going, but there will be announcements.

I would be VERY surprised if GTG is not the next 1:6 figure announced from this line. I think the announcement will be sooner, rather than later and by sooner I mean Toy Fair.

I hope they'll announce a new 1/6 LOTR figure during Toyfair. They need to start announcing the figures at a more rapid paste. An announcement every 6months sucks and the added time it takes for the items to be produced and shipped really makes this line hard to collet. I know I am beating on a dead horse here because this has been discussed countless times, but sideshow should know by now that the demand is there for the LOTR line. Producing less figures just to be on a safe side is really aggrevating, especially to all the people who can't afford the other LOTR lines and wait patiently for 1/6 announcement.s

My guess...they wanted to space out the Gandalf announcements. Having released the GTG Bust not too long ago, and with the GTW PF coming now, I'm sure they want to save the GTG 1/6 for later this year.

My gut tells me that SS pays close attention to these boards and the fact that most people are looking to complete the fellowship -- therefore, I smell 1/6 Gandalf AND 1/6 Merry and Pippin 2 pack shown at SDCC. Let's face it, they worked with HT to develop the 8" body for Frodo and Sam, makes sense to repurpose those bodies elsewhere asap to recoup those R&D costs!

Of course, we could get Gandy as a Toyfair timed announcement...and maybe start to see some baddies for SDCC -- 1/6 Saruman, Ringwraith, Orcs or Uruk-Hai (using HT muscle body!)...I sure hope so

all i know is that in a Q&A with SS right after faramir they said they werent gonna release any more figures until they were caught up enough that they could start releasing figures at a more rapid pace. then we get frodo and sam followed by the longest gap between preorders ever for this line. hmmmmm?

Sideshow would lose a lot of customers for this, that's for damn sure! But I don't think sideshow will ever do this, at least I hope for their own sake.

I hope he is announced soon. I cannot wait to see him. I hope this line does not end with the fellowship because it has so much potential.

If they do get around to making him I hope Trevor sculpts him and the paint apps is as tight as it was for Old Ben.

The hat is important to Gandalf's look too. It has to be done just right which makes me wonder if they'll go with a molded hat like HT Sparrow or try to make a cloth one.
